Ferrari QB used like a '85 Camry

So we're just going to assume everyone we cut wasn't worth keeping, and everyone we signed will turn the corner?

That's the beauty of the NFL. Three weeks in and when you finally think you have everything figured out you look up and the Saints and Niners are 1-2 and the Panthers were just gashed by an average Steelers squad at home.

Get a grip and quit acting like the Lions fans from last week.

We obviously didn't prepare well enough and with the Steelers having a few extra days to sort some things out they were able to expose a few of our weaknesses.

Not to mention, we just flat out had a bad game.

Regardless, it's over. It's time to wipe off the dirt and get back to work.

We're still a good football team, we just have some kinks to work out.

However, severely over reactionary posts do nothing to improve the situation.

Well Smitty's numbers have improved after leaving this prison. I'm sure Cam's would too. But he's our guy and it is what it is. We'll never run and gun, Cam isn't Manning, and yeah. Learn to live with it. We are what we are. Stout D, clock controllers, and a controlled run/pass gameplan.

Then again ... Cam's two first games. 400 yds a piece. I mean ... it CAN be done.

The problem I have with the OP's comments are the whole "once in a lifetime QB" and "most physically gifted QB prospect ever" talk. Hyperbole much? Yes, when healthy Cam can be one of the best in the league, but he is not healthy so currently he is not. Plus I still think he overthrows receivers a bit too often to be considered one of the greatest ever. So, just for fun I looked up the combine stats for several QBs just to see if Cam truly is the "most gifted ever". I have their height, weight and 40 yard dash times, which is the most basic measure of physical ability as well as TD/INT ratio for their career so far. So which one is Cam?

1) 6' 6" 242 lbs. 5.03 sec 1.02

2) 6' 5" 232 lbs 4.93 sec 0.00

3) 6' 4" 255 lbs 4.52 sec 1.41

4) 6' 5" 243 lbs 5.14 sec 4.00

5) 6' 5" 234 lbs 4.62 sec 0.92

6) 6' 4" 234 lbs 4.67 sec 1.83

7) 6' 5" 230 lbs 4.80 sec 2.27

8) 6' 5" 248 lbs 4.59 sec 1.57

9) 6' 5" 229 lbs 5.08 sec 2.16

10) 6' 5" 241 lbs 4.75 sec 1.79

11) 6' 6" 265 lbs 4.83 sec 0.78

12) 6' 5" 233 lbs 4.53 sec 2.43

13) 6' 6" 232 lbs 4.84 sec 1.56

14) 6' 5" 232 lbs 4.65 sec 1.41

So which one is Cam? After a few guesses I'll post who everyone is. Or if you are bored I'm sure you can look it up like I did.

LeBeau did what other teams should have done.  And will do in the future.

Take away the run and make the Panthers beat you with the pass.  Cam looks old all of a sudden, nothing quick about him.  Just stand back there till someone clocks him.  Doesn't break out of the pocket and does not throw the ball away.  With our patchwork OLine, it is very important that he have better mechanics and presence about the pass rush coming his way.

Steelers knew our OL was poo and that if they blitzed heavy then our weak WRs would struggle to get open until after they got pressure

Cam gimpy is still more mobile than most of league

I can't say I agree with gimpy Cam be more mobile than most.  He ran kinda well vs Detroit, but looked like he tweeked the ankle in that game and last night he was the least mobile I've ever seen him.  It looked like some throws were painful for him to even attempt.

How many of those QBs have ran for 2,000+ Yd & 28 Td plus threw 10,000+ Yd & 64 Td?

what escapes these people is that it's not just a matter of raw measurables.

this line of thinking is how you get people arguing that andrew luck would be just as much of a threat on the ground as cam but he chooses to be a pocket passer because he's more "cerebral" or whatever.  it's understandable why someone would think that but it doesn't hold up well if you actually watch them play.

    • At this rate, maybe he'll be a decent 8-9 QB on his 3rd HC by year 6. Standards are so low around here now. Tepper has done some serious damage to the fan base.
