Cam Tonight

I was at the game and Cam appeared to be the only guy who knew what the fug he was doing out there on offense. He was obviously hurt and getting hammered on most plays yet he kept on getting up and delivering catchable balls. When you are passing every down against a 3 man rush and are still getting killed its tough sledding as far as throwing the ball is concerned. I found the effort he gave to be pretty inspiring all things considered.

I just explained why that was the case. His energy is INWARD. He's in control of himself only, not the offense as a whole. Being the QB, that's a problem. You end up with a bunch of individual pieces out there, not a cohesive unit.

I think you're setting the baseline for good OL performance too low here.

What I watched tonight was awful.

Never said they were good. Still you have to work with what you have and quick passes and deception might be a better route then what we are doing. Hell they have problems even setting up a screen pass. A few jet sweeps and some draw plays with quick routes to take advantage of our size and good hands might work well. Just a guess in that department but DEN and a ton of other teams that dont have good run games use that to set up bigger plays.

I've seen PFFL's retarded yards-per-snap method of explaining how a 275-yard, TD, no-turnover game by Cam in a win was terrible, I've seen TRD slurp Matt Moore so hard he's still got semen residue on his face, and I've seen Fiz's movie trailer.

But never have I seen someone blame a player's pre-snap energy for his team's lack of success in a game. There's always something new here.

A Coryell offense is driven by big plays.

But here's the thing: The approach you describe is pretty close to the way the Panthers ran their offense last season, and while not being especially explosive, it worked.

Why they aren't doing much of that this season is a question I can't answer.

The problem with our team and the Coryell is that it requires a good Oline and fast WRs. We have nether and that's the problem. Im not saying we need to go full out WCO but a faster pace short high percentage passing game would not be a bad thing. Then maybe we could do more but only then.

Could've sworn I've said the whole time that your problems are that you're NOT USED TO hearing what I'm saying, like that makes it untrue.

The QB sets the tone for each play before the ball is snapped. The reason teams like Denver and Seattle tend to be so electric play after play is because Manning and Wilson are so active behind the line. The rest of the offense feeds off that, and their players fly around like ping pong balls. Cam is taking it all in, and taking his time, and processing it all and then, finally, he finally snaps the ball, and by that time his players have calcified, instead of shooting out of the gate like cannons.

It's not coaching. It's the QB's energy before the snap. Whole offense plays better when it's high.

We did just that last year.

Why we're not doing it this year is a mystery.
