Cam Tonight

Cam's effectiveness as a QB comes from his ability to keep the defense off balance by running. It also helps when the protection breaks down (which is like every pass play). He's not Tom Brady or Peyton Manning. If he's hurt and can't run we are probably better off with Anderson at qb as he is a better pocket passer and makes quicker decisions to get rid of the ball instead of taking a huge hit.

To be fair though, that's an extremely tough decision to make.

Y'all must have forgotten Anderson's first 8 years of the NFL. He'll trick you for a stretch, like he did in Cleveland, (which is what makes him a good back-up) then fall back down to Earth and poo the bed major. I want Cam healthy, but I'm scared to have Derek playing when that pops out (remember the preseason last year? That's an example of bad Derek), and I it will if he's on the field long enough.

I recognize Cam is hurt, but this is the NFL, and unlike the NBA, these guys can't just sit a couple of games to rest, especially not the QB.

I wouldn't call Peyton 'amazing' based on today, but one thing is key.

Peyton's healthy.

I don't really think that can be said of Newton right now.

Peyton barely gets touched. Newton is getting ripped every other play, whether he completes a pass or not.

Our OL continues to fail Cam on a consistent basis. We have absolutely no semblance of a running game. Our offense is Cam, Olsen and KB. Cam had more tools and better protection as a rookie than he does now. And yet people place more blame on him. Blame Gettleman for not getting some other OL, blame Shula, but I don't see a point to blame Cam at all.

It's much more complicated than that. This is the same O-line that did better with Anderson back there.

I will keep saying it. Go look at Anderson's pre-snap energy/theatrics during that game. He was as lively and "in command" as Peyton Manning is every game. I said after that week that I hope Cam took note.

The line did better as a unit in that game because they were properly energized. Cam's style is more inward, and thinking about what he needs to do. He tries to be too calm, and he's putting people to sleep, the line included. It ends up being every man for himself based on what's happening before the snap.

Most of you will never get this. Ask Frank Garcia about how a QB's pre-snap energy affects the whole offense and see what he says.

All comes down to 2 things. Oh and the OL played better last week with Cam there. They called more quick hits with DA. Our OL is not even a top-three OL in the SEC, let alone the NFL. Can't win games or keep anyone healthy by running it or slow-developing pass plays.

Pre-snap energy means approximately 0.00000000000001%. Lack of talent on the OL and playcalling that doesn't fit our few strengths on offense account for the rest.

Lol that sounds like a lot of bullshit. You are basing it off Anderson in the 4th quarter facing who knows what kind of back ups. Pls with your Psychomumbojumbo. And fyi one guys opinion on qb energy or whatever you are talking about does not mean anything.

Denver's O-Line averages about six years experience across and is anchored by one of the best left tackles in the game.

I know. I'm pissed our FO thought it was cool to not develop any tackle depth over the years. Even with Gross we were still just throwing bodies at the RT position, and had terrible depth. It's now hitting a critical point.
