I assume the consensus has been made as far as us releasing him.  Someone explain how it was beneficial to cut him (besides looking to give leadership to our younger players.)

I loved Steve while he was here but now that he's gone I've moved on. He claims he has but based on his outburst he hasn't. I understand he was mad but obviously something wasn't right in that LOCKER ROOM. I'm tired of fans stating Steve said or Steve wanted to move to slot... It's bull because Panthers have tried getting help but Steve has never to my knowledge helped the new receivers. Always worried about HIS success. I want fans to look @ our current team what's different? The offensive players seem calmer and TRUST the system. Can that be said in past years? We, as fans, aren't playing him. I hope he has 0 catches and 0 yds against us, but I wish him all the best building his HOF resume otherwise.

You said it yourself, he's using his release as another chip on his shoulder. That's the type of thing that made him a great player for us. If you understand that, then there's no reason to take it personally.

But as fans we do take the team personally to our own individual extents. Good fan bases take the team and things that are said about or done to their team personally. Part of being a fan is including ourselves in the 'we' of the team. Any time you read about players saying they love playing at home and they love the energy and support from the fans that's what we have to offer.

I liked Steve when he played here and I cheered for him every moment of it, but I currently owe him nothing nor do I have any reason to want him to succeed anymore. When he retires I'll be happy to enjoy the press conference and hope he makes the HOF but that's not right now. Right now he's just another dude taking shots at our team.
