Smith has stated so often that he wanted to play the slot, and wanted more options in Carolina.

And we drafted wide receivers who ended up having no one to mentor them. That's why kb and Smith couldn't have co-existed. Smith sees everything as competition.

You can acknowledge how great Smith was here and admit that he wasn't exactly a model citizen and wasn't worth the money he was making here last season.

I don't think it's a jab at Cam. Flacco is widely known as a super mellow guy out on the field. I think that's what Smith was referring to.

He may not be in his prime but it's hard to criticize someone with two 100-yard games out of 3 played.

Or, he could've been asked a question phrased as, how does it feel having a QB as calm in the huddle as Flacco? or something like that to where his answer is "it's been refreshing"

Which would still be a ridiculous stretch to take as a shot at Cam.
