Boycott Harris Teeter - Selling Steelers #1 cookies

Wow a lot of hate going on here, as an employee of the corporate office let me clear a few things up.

1) Bakery managers are encouraged to come up with their own creative idea's that could be profitable, especially seasonal opportunity's. You'll see these cookie cakes take on all different types of designs that are relevant to whatever might be going on that week. This isn't Harris Teeter making a claim that they think the Steelers are great, it's a Bakery manager thinking that there will probably be some Steelers fans throwing parties to watch the game this weekend. The problem lies within the large number of Steelers fans in the community. If you have a problem with the cookie cakes, voice your concern with your local Deli/Bakery manager.

2) Harris Teeter is a major sponsor for the Carolina Panthers, and has been for a long time. But you guys gotta understand it's a business relationship. Harris Teeter sponsors the Redskins in the DC area as well.

3) I've seen a lot of people posting that things have gone downhill since the Kroger merger. No one made a call down to the stores and said "hey guys now that Kroger owns us you can stop caring." Harris Teeter is still operated out of Matthews, and still employs a whole lot of Charlotteans.

I've worked for this company since I was 16, and I can say without a doubt it's a great company that anyone from Charlotte can be proud of. The company stresses the best service and selection in the industry. Seeing people bad mouthing Harris Teeter makes me feel the same as any of us feel when people bad mouth the Panthers.

Worst company I ever worked for in my life and I worked at Walmart for a while. I worked at Lowes Foods for 6 years until they sold all their stores to Teeter. I worked at a Charlotte for over a year and then transferred to a store in Greenville, NC so I could go to school. There I was fired for refusing to skip classes to go to work. You can say all the positive things you want but your company is horrible to work for at the store level.

If you want to make money from Steelers fans. Open a store in Pittsburgh. There is no excuse, the negative will this generates from your core customers is worth far more than a 7 dollar cookie cake.

I worked at the store level for 6 years and that was not my experience. Yeah I worked my butt off but the store always respected my school schedule, and I even got a little money each year to help pay for college. I'm sorry that was your experience, but working around school schedules is something that happens at every store and should not have been a reason for you to be fired.

Thanks but I'll be shopping elsewhere until that Steeler crap is out of there. I won't be "waving my VIC card" anytime soon either. Sellouts
