As long as you're not the one having to pay it, what difference does it make what Cam makes? He and Luke ARE this franchise. Not one person in this thread understands the salary cap enough to know what impact such a hypothetical contract would have on it. And you can count on Cam to be worth every penny he gets unlike some other guys we've signed and resigned to massive contracts.

The Panthers have Cam for 2015 for 14.6 million ... I think they will keep that number and only extended Cam from 2016 to 2022 and the total number will be close to 150 million if not over.

 

BTW .. Franchise tag for a QB in 2016 ... 24.7 million ... as of right now.
