I thought you weren't trying to compare him to Cam?

I'm not, just saying that what you were saying is not very accurate.

Rivers threw less INT's his first three year starting than Manning, Brady, Brees, Newton, etc.....

What you were saying wasn't accurate, I wasn't comparing.

I should have been more specific on the interceptions. It's been years obviously since I've seen those Chargers teams of the mid 2000's, but I do recall Rivers throwing an interception at the worst time on occasion, and ending some games on his own.

I don't think we need to speculate very much on what Manning, Brady, or Brees could have done with Ladainian Tomlinson in his prime...

You mean when Brees had LT in his prime?

Or when Manning had Faulk and Edge in theirs?

As for the INT's, yes, all QB's throw some INT's that end games at times, but that doesn't change the fact that Rivers had less than 3 first ballot HOF'ers, and advanced in the playoffs past just the first game.

i also remember rivers playing on a torn acl in a playoff game or maybe it was a game to go to the playoffs. not sure.

rivers is a beast like cam is a beast. tough SOB's. rivers is also the biggest poo talker in the business and rubs people the wrong way a lot of the time.

rivers football acumen is off the charts. listen to people who are football junkies. they rave about rivers knowledge of the game. I have no allegiance to NC state either i don't even really watch college football minus a few games a year.

edit: AFC championship game he played on a torn ACL

Brees was just coming into his own when he left San Diego.

Also, Faulk never put up more than 11 touchdowns in 1 season while he was in Indy, let alone 28...

I swear some of these posters just sit around and jerk off to pictures of this man. Talk to a million other people in the Carolinas that don't make 300 posts a month on this board and you'll get completely different opinions. The "homer ism" here is out of this world. "Greatest QB of ALL TIME," "Greatest skill-set in NFL history." Are you people for real? I'm a Panthers fan. Not a Cam fan; As are 95% of people at BOA on Sundays.

Excellent QB? I agree. Worth that much money? Debatable. Worth it if it damages the team as a whole? Absolutely not.

That's all I had to say.

You can be a Cam fan and Panthers fan at same time

Rivers fumbles all the time too

Flacco got a six-year, $120.6 million contract with $52 million guaranteed

So $20 million/year for Flacco. Is Cam worth an extra $5 million/year over Flacco?

Doesn't seem that far-fetched

He only got it after they won the SB. And thats after being in the playoffs like 5 straight years.

Cam is at the very edge of the top 10, I could see an argument for him at 10 but not any higher than that.

Take off the black and blue shades.

Not about where he is at now, it is about where he could be in a few years.

I will never take my black and blue shades off. You should put some on

The whole argument about rankings, and which QB fits where in the top 10-15 is all personal perception, and always filled with homerism somewhere. What it boils down to is what Newton brings to his team, and how important he is to his team, and we know these answers already.

Thats only because you don't know what the hell you are talking about. It has nothing to do with "homerism", but you not having any working knowledge of where QBs should be ranked. I can understand keeping Cam out of the "elite" class, but saying there are 10 better QB's in the league is just foolish. You can do better.
