"Don't put me in the elevator...!"

It's a violence against women problem the NFL is addressing. No one gives a poo about a woman hitting a man. When taking any statistic into account, you have to find the study, how data was collected, and how it was interpreted. One thing I've learned is to not pay attention to any statistic put forth by an interest group or most kinda of media, particularly main stream groups such as national newspapers or Internet outlets.

They leave out the part where they pull out cash to buy it....

and it isn't like they got the elevator tape. They got cell phone footage someone video taped of the tape. NFL can't function like that

The NFL could easily shill out the money to pay for it. Or, pay for a private investigating firm to do

It and keep their clean image.

The NFL has shown that they're not chivalrous knights.

I have a difficult time believing any form of statistic.

This is mostly because my company (small business) takes on a state contract every year to do a statistical analysis of public feedback on their department.  They are not allowed to do their own analysis (for obvious reasons) and are required by law analysis be done by an independent and private organization with no other ties to the department.  Thing is, we don't get a dime until they get what they want.  When they send us the data, they add arbitrary weights to each form of result (so marking the department a 0 for communication isn't weighted as a 0).  We send them the analysis, then they send it back along with the data and change the weights.  This happens 3-4 times before we get paid.
