yep. didn't see anything mentioning some outrageous expectations. i don't think anyone even among his strongest supporters have expectations anywhere close to what you threw out there. i saw someone mention 3rd down gold, but even with that you're looking at someone that cam might see as a reliable target on third down which means maybe 3-4, possibly even 5 first downs...and possibly just that many targets in those situations... which usually doesn't result in a lot of yardage. a reasonable, realistic, and pretty optimistic projection considering that cam still has olsen, benjamin, cotchery and/or avant, and his RBs might be 3-4 catches, 30-40 yards, and possibly a TD. in our offense, that would essentially be balling considering that we are a clock control offense with very limited opportunities to touch the ball and the fact that the QB spreads the ball around so much.

for all the excitement about him, i seriously doubt anyone expects more than what i just projected. i think most would be happy with just a couple catches in key situations.

If he gets 50 yards, he would surpass Steve Smith's per game average last year.

true. i think bersin would probably drop less than smitty did and wouldn't have the coverage he had to face, thanks to benjamin and olsen. but he also would have to deal with less of the very limited targets available thanks also to KB and olsen.

there's just not a lot of passes being thrown around in this offense and as good as bersin might be, at best he will be the third option behind benjamin and olsen who get the vast majority of targets.

the bar for success is set pretty low for any receiver beyond those two guys. success will be just catching the ball and making the most of the limited opportunities he's given.

Clutch 3rd down catches is what I'm looking for. Like last week

Exactly, I've loved what I've seen from Bersin, but I think this could be the beginning of him carving out a role as a slot guy.  Basically, I want to see him eventually take over the role that Avant has, solid hands, find the sticks, move the chains, just be mr reliable.

yep. we don't need him to be a wes welker guy who catches a bazillion passes. we just need him to be one of those reliable targets cam can go to on third down. anything else is gravy.

Dream coming true for this young man.Getting a chance on a national stage with the WR corp banged up. Have a feeling he will take the opportunity and run with it. What a story that will be Monday morning if he steps in and shines. We need some good Karma coming our way.

Our wide receiver corp is banged up? I missed that.
