Heck no. Late 90s, early 00s Bucs were > or = to the Saints or Falcons hate. We had visitors to this site all summer rubbing their noses in them having won a ring while us not, also saying they were coming for us in the opener.

Love their pain although I wish it wasn't because of my most hated team (the Falcons). Also love how even the worst (best) case scenario is Mariota, a homeless man's Cam at BEST, and a marginal/poor starter in all likelihood. I love it.

2014 Bucs = 2010 Panthers

 

 

I know, I know, we all take great joy in seeing the other teams in the south be demolished.

 

 

But just think back to 2010... when after 3 weeks we all knew the season was over.  Good lord was that awful.

 

 

Can any part of you find a little sympathy for Bucs fans? We do need them to beat the NFC North teams afterall.

I gotta go back to 2001. That season was the worst ever as a Panthers fan. I don't even know how we managed to get 1 win.

Yes, I can relate.  When I turned it on and it was 35-0 in the second quarter, I immediately thought about 2010 and the hopelessness I felt every sunday.  Glad those days are gone.  Hate it for you Tampa.

I agree losing 15 in a row was dark times, but at least we didn't have to get our hopes up that year.  2002 season was far worse for me though.  We had a stretch of games where we kept being on the wrong side of close games that we would lose in the 4th quarter.  It was like the Bills game from last year on a loop for about five or six weeks.  Add that to the fact that we lost a combined 71-0 to Atlanta and that year can burn in the deepest parts of hell.

Any team that had that loud mouth, a-hole Sapp I can't feel sorry for.  That being said, McCown is who we thought he was, an average backup quarterback.  Tressman should be given a medal for making him look so good last year.  Not every backup turns out to be Jake.  And at 35 if he had not become a starter by now there was probably a good reason for it.  I don't feel sorry for whoever decided to sign him and make him their started, front office or Lovie, they should have know better.

If 2010 didn't hapoen and early 2011, Hurney may still be here (what a friggin nightmare that would be).2010 gave us "the godfather" in 2012 and this team starting swimming upstream ever since.

Also Cam came to us via that horrible year.So sometimes good things come out of bad experiences.

Why? A slightly smaller, slightly more athletic Byron Leftwich at best that's proven time and again to be a mental midget. Russell or Leaf at this point would be more likely than Leftwich.

2002 clearly established the fox routine for a non-playoff year though.  2006, 2007, and 2009 were similar-panthers put together a modest string of wins, go on a long cold streak effectively dooming our playoff hopes, and then win 4 out of 5 or something similar to close the season and get us to 7-9 or 8-8.

Jameis will be good in the NFL, real good. Better than Mariota at least. Mariota reminds me of rg3 while Jameis reminds me closer to Cam. Although even Jameis isn't on Cams level:
