Leave your Hardy jerseys at home

What I do know is this, many here have repeatedly used the crack argument to discredit the accuser's claims of DV.

Hearsay. Absolutely no evidence.

Greg either had an extended intimate relationship with a drug addict... or... his accuser is not a crack addict, lending even more credence to her claims of DV.

Prove it.

Many here want to ignore the findings of the court.

What findings? There was never a discovery process.

Ok, let's ignore the judge's findings. Do the Panthers/NFL even require a guilty judgment to prevent Hardy from playing for the team?

It's quite possible. Many employers, especially large contracts that are in the public eye have a 'moral turpitude' clause written into the language. That hasn't been mentioned as far as we know. Again speculation.

Many here want to ignore the findings of the court. That is understandable since Greg is appealing the findings. However, a supposedly impartial legal expert was tasked to review all the relevant evidence and determine Hardy's innocence or guilt. For those awaiting a legal resolution, the findings of the judge don't provide any credence to Greg's claims of innocence.

As a Panthers fan, I hope things work out for Greg and he is found innocent of all charges. Until then, hopefully he utilizes this additional free time wisely, implementing some life changes to preclude any more unfortunate incidents like this from occurring in the future.

Greg is the captain of his own destiny. A course correction is in order.

This whole post makes me want to throw up. You suggest that Greg should get his life together in the time away from team activities, well I would argue that Greg was clearly making an attempt to do that BEFOREHAND by moving out all her poo the day before this alleged DV occurred.

Can't you see your position on the matter is flawed due to your judgment of Hardy's character and the alleged victims character? The facts demonstrate an apparent misreprentation of the US legal system. But I guess if society coupled with the media today is God and the end-all be-all of judgment then we don't even need a legal system to defend our inalienable rights as Americans.

The judges reason behind her guilty verdict was based upon the witness who didn't see but HEARD the alleged DV in the building. Bullshit.

I won't be going to Sundays game, but I will be going to the Thurs night game in Oct. I rarely wear the jerseys I have, but I will be breaking out my Hardy jersey for that game. I'm going to support him and continue to support him as long as he's on this team.

A jury? If they ask her in court, and she lies, Greg hired a court reporter for his bench trial to use for that specific situation. Her admission of using cocaine is the same as if she had been caught with it.

It means about as much as what Hardy is going through himself. Absolutely nothing until November.

Possibly, but why didn't Hardy just bar her from reentering his home? Seems like once he made the decision to break off the relationship, there would be no reason for her to be there.

Hardy already had a history of erratic behavior prior to this incident. Appears his ex did too. Unfortunately, it is not uncommon in these types of situations for both parties to have issues.

The NFL used to allow the legal system to render a decision before weighing in. In cases like Hardy's that would result in him playing most of this season prior to any action being taken.

That approach is untenable in today's profit driven business environment. Sure many fanatics on this forum are cool with waiting, but the majority of viewers are casual fans, less tolerant of these types of issues. Sponsors don't want their products being associated with domestic violence, especially when women are making the majority of their family's purchases.

It all comes down to money. It is cheaper for the NFL to pay these players to sit until their trials, than it is to lose sponsors that are enraged to watch there brands tarnished every Sunday by players who cannot successfully manage their personal relationships.

All this is a non issue for the vast majority of NFL players who have managed to stay out of trouble.

I will defer judgment to a recognized legal expert in NC law on that issue.

There's really no way to let Hardy completely off the hook in this.  He's an adult and he makes his own decisions.

Argue all you want whether he's guilty of the charges, but it's pretty much impossible to argue he's innocent of having poor judgement.
