He was active because of Greg Hardy's deactivation. I expect someone else will be active because of Hardy this week, I'm not sure who, though.

Correct, Hardy was on 53, but deactivated last week.  He isn't on the 53 this week, leaving a entire roster spot open active, or not.  If Avant was out, it would make sense to use that spot for Hill, leave Avant on the deactive list, and there you go.

Voth tweeting that Cotchery out of practice today and questionable now? I didn't seem him reported on the IR yesterday with avant. Did I miss something or is this new?
