Panthers Front Office has lost it!

This whole problem goes a lot deeper than our front office. Don't blame this organization. I know people find his hard to believe but the NFL and the Panthers make money from corporate sponsors. The Panthers rely on corporations like Bank of America and Nike and all of those big mega corporations to support them. They will not loose sponsors.

Once they threaten to pull their sponsorships, teams listen. Fact is, all of these corporations hate what is going on and the NFL is having to bow to them. I know people will argue that fans are more important than sponsorships and maybe that is true, but fans will come back. The NFL looses players all the time and they rebuild themselves. Losing sponsorships is another issue.

I really think the NFL wanted all of this to blow over. That was the plan. Until the sponsors started to leave and now this is a huge mess.

Did you hear.. Anheuser-Busch is now talking about the NFL and how upset they are? Look at all the money they spend!! You don't think Roger is just a bit concerned? Jerry Richardson too? Now Bank of America who sponsors our stadium has come out. Come on people.

If you seen the press conference you would have realized that in essence that the Panthers FO basically say "we had no choice"-

DG looked visibly destraught as he appeared to not agree with the decision.

its very evident that the decision didnt lay with the Org and the gave in..

BITCHES..

lol of course DG would looked upset. That is 13 mil down the drain.

They can't suspend him without pay presumably because the CBA won't allow it since he's not yet guilty of anything (not to mention its the wrong thing to do), they cant play him because it pisses off all the morons in the media,  and they can't cut him because then they would be paying him and would have no chance of him coming back this season.

That leaves as their only option what they were forced to do today which means Hardy and his agent get paid, the media hates us 1% less and we lose our best defensive lineman for most of the season with the only possible bright side being he gets acquitted and we regain his services for the stretch run.

I can certainly understand why RR and DG were gritting their teeth during that press conference.

Yet at the same time they did NOTHING to stand by their guy or to SHOW that support.

They could have put some information out there about the process, took time to discuss the difference between the Hardy case and RR or AP, but NO.... Not once.

it was just "The climiate is changing- Greg decided to do this (which makes us look even MORE inept) and we want to move on....there is no rule book."

ALL WE DID WAS embarass ourselves in public.... AGAIN...

BS FO move....

They're paying him a lot of money, if that's not supporting someone I don't know what is.

Doesn't personal responsibility mean anything to people in this country anymore?

Some of you want to blame a coked up girlfriend, mass media, the Panthers organization or the NFL, anybody other than Greg Hardy.

What high profile public figure in their right mind maintains a close personal relationship with a coke fiend and is unable to anticipate a public relations disaster looming just around the corner?

Hardy was being compensated handsomely by Panthers management to do two things, play football and stay out of trouble.  That doesn't seem like a lot to ask of someone for 13 million dollars now does it?.

But no, thanks to Greg's piss poor judgment, not only wasn't he was able to stay out of trouble for more than a few weeks, now he can't even play football.

Greg's has clearly demonstrated a selfish disregard for the law, his teammates, coaches/management, the NFL and football fans everywhere.

The blame for this regrettable state of affairs lies squarely on the shoulders of one person, and one person alone, Greg Hardy.

Hardy is still innocent. It doesn't matter if he has been to court. The ruling is overturned until a new session can take place. Seriously, does anybody look at any serious posts or just skim through the information?

You are correct that Hardy's appeal of the bench verdict sets aside the guilty verdict and he gets a trial by jury.

But, it does not change the fact that a judge DID hear the facts of the case and found him guilty. This is the diff in his and McDonald's situation.

And to AKPantherFan:

Do you think your Superintendent, First Sergeant, Unit CC or Base Commander would tolerate you behaving in a similar fashion?

Who would you point your finger at when you lost your career and were escorted off base, never allowed to return?

Would you accuse the USAF of having "Lost It"?

Even I am granted due process. What would happen to me while I awaited trail would be determined by my leadership. Definitely.

If found guilty by a jury of my peers I could be released or they take rank, pay ect.

And no, this behavior is not tolerated.

I'm not defending what GH did or didn't do, he is ignorant for putting himself and us in this situation in the first place.

I am defending his right to due process.

I don't get the disconnect here. He's getting his legal due process. Management went to the mat for him on this entire issue.

I know- shut it down, lock it up, but it needs to be said.

The Panthers front office has turned their back on one of their own and has now said it is his option "one he took". The Panthers FO has shown 0 backbone and thrown one of our own under the bus.

Steve Smith assaults a guy (or two) and NEVER have we seen anything like this.

We have caved to public opinion, and its dissapointing.

Let hope Greg can move the trial up and prove all these assholes wrong.

WTF-- FU NFL and FU Ray Rice and AP...

If I am a Panther player i am pretty damn concerned about the fact of my employer having my back....

The only ones who lose out in this deal are his teammates and those fans that support him blindly.  While I firmly believe 'innocent until proven guilty', Hardy put himself in this situation.  There has to be some level of accountability on his part, he did have a hand in this mess.

True, had the Rice video not gotten out, then it would have been a completely different story, but it did, so everyone must accept that and deal with it.  I don't fault the NFL or the Panthers for this situation at all, they were handling it themselves, until the video of Rice came out and then the media came looking for blood.  When that happens, you've got to protect your business, be it suspending players or expelling them.  Bottom line is the NFL is a business that can't have the image of a league full of woman beaters...sponsors don't like that.

I agree that this whole situation is BS, but to blame the NFL or the Panthers is short sighted, they didn't force Rice to sucker punch his wife.  They didn't force Hardy to hang with coked up whores.  Blame the DA in NJ who failed to prosecute Rice after seeing the full video.  Blame the media for looking for ratings and going on witch hunts.

Let's also keep in mind Hardy is still getting paid, so I can't really feel all that bad for him.......
