Panthers Front Office has lost it!

AK....Hardy will never be "vindicated." He may or may not be found guilty of the criminal charges he is facing. However, he is guilty of bad behavior, questionable judgement, and poor character. He has not lived up to the FO expectations in those terms. The Panthers did give him a break. Now this has become like a tsunami on the way...better change your route or be consumed by it.

If he played for any other team we would be hating him for his loud brash behavior and craziness, and......it is all about the money...before the legal charges.

Let's be real.

I've read that several people love Hardy and his attitude. I probably would hate him unless he played for the 49ers or Saints.

The team could have suspended him rather than the League, but Gettleman's words made it clear the team wasn't going to suspend him.

Because if the Panthers suspended him, we'd face a grievance by the player's union on our own. Glad Goodell offered the exempt/commish list option, especially since, you know, this is their fault for blowing this poo up.

Would not have mattered if it was the team or the league- the league and NFLPA definition of a "suspension" would have gotten a grievance by the NFLPA. The team nor the league has a legal leg to stand on to- by definition- suspend him.

This Commissioner's exempt list is the new way of being able to do this kind of crap. Kind of like the NFL's version of the Patriot Act. "We can do whatever we want under the guise of 'personal conduct'."

The Panthers didn't want to suspend him.

The NFL wanted him out of the way.

Funny-- San Fran is abasically saying FU everyone we are going to do us- and guess who they are not talking about in the media...

San Fran....

Panthers = NO Back Bone...

If they find hardy guilty i will eat my words and feel like a huge piece of poo, but at ;least i am not willing to throw my own under the bus before he gets to prove his innocence.

and for those who think now we can move on, you ALL are mistaken. This crap will be brought up every sunday regarless.

enjoy!

In San Fran's case, he hasn't been to court yet... Hardy was already in court amd found guilty, so, you should probably learn the facts or you'll eat a lot of word in the future

More like a way to get him to agree to this without kicking up a fuss.

The team was going to keep playing him.  Rivera said that last week and Gettleman confirmed it today.  But the NFL needed him to go away because of their current PR nightmares.

So they tell him "We'll suspend you with or without pay, your choice" knowing exactly what choice he'd make.

The same choice any of us would make.

Hardy is still innocent. It doesn't matter if he has been to court. The ruling is overturned until a new session can take place. Seriously, does anybody look at any serious posts or just skim through the information?

In terms of legal system, yes but as you can see that legal poo doesn't matter. Judge said guilty, so he's guilty

While what you said isn't 100% wrong! it isn't 100% right either.

Yes there was a hearing in front of a single judge.

That judged listened to both sides and found it necessary to find GH guilty.

Upon that verdict, confident that a jury trial would exonerate him, Hardy appealed the judges decision.

Once the appeal was filled and a jury trial was requested the bench trial verdict of "guilty" is not just set aside, it is wiped away.

This must be done because of the double jeopardy laws. You cannot be tried or convicted of the same crime twice.
