Hardy on Exempt List

The new domestic violence accusation is against Brandon Marshall.

He is a serial woman beater.  However, like the Michael Sam's nonsense, ESPN took this and ran with it and the other media lap dogs licked it up.  Ultimately, we live in a world that strictly judges you based on perception and not fact.  As I have, they took judges initial guilty verdict and ran with it.  When they ran out of words to say about Ray Rice and he got kicked out of the league they need another story, enter Greg Hardy.  It's only logical.  Now, that Hardy has been put on the list they will look for ANYTHING to feed the beast.  The commissioner will lose his job, take this to the bank.

Shocked. He's been arrested a LOT.  Multiple times for domestic violence.

Charge is also from 2007.

The accuser told a tale of some extremely violent encounters.

She said she spoke directly to Roger Goodell about what happened and he promised it would be taken care of.

Marshall only ended up with a one game suspension.  It was pointed out that Michael Vick got a huge suspension for dogfighting.

Didn't know what thread to post this in.  Just thinking aloud.

I wonder how this affects the team long-term.  Does this tarnish the Panthers as a destination for FAs even when our cap clears?  Will our draft picks be hesitant to sign extensions?  Before you blast me, I know conventionally thinking how absurd what I just typed is.  But Hardy hasn't even had his trial and our organization caved.  Does NC's legal system pose a threat to current and future players.  Players take into account state taxes and quality of life all the time.  What precedent is this setting?  Not just for the NFL in general but more specifically for the Panthers.  I wouldn't be surprised to see negative recruiting as used in college sports to become more of a factor.  Are we open to this now if we throw Greg under the bus?  Difficult questions, lots of ins, lots of outs (lotta what have yous). But seriously, I think this could be baddddd.  And I'm not one for conspiracy theories or tinfoil, but this is eye-opening to say the least.

The current accusations are more about Goodell's handling of it than about Marshall himself.

It's not the "Panthers'" decision to do this.  Only the comish can make the decision, and it's up to the player to accept or not.
