The Greg Hardy thread....for everything Hardy related

Brace yourselves, fellow Huddlers. Over the coming weeks you are only going to see this phenomenon becoming more and more apparent.

It's a tradition that is arguably as old as the CarolinaHuddle itself. People here like to find ways to get rid of their best players. I'm not sure if it is because people actually prefer to be in their comfort zone when the Panthers suck and are irrelevant, or maybe they get cocky and are forgetting just how slim the margin is between a good NFL team and a bad NFL team.

Let's not forget that if the Huddle had gotten its way, JStew would have been cut before the preseason even started.

Greg Hardy has now filled this much-needed role. Unsuccessful in getting the Panthers to cut their best running back, they have now turned their attention to getting the Panthers to cut one of their best defensive players (and top DE in the league). Pay attention to it, it is actually quite amusing how much energy and thought you will see people use over the next weeks, trying to find ways to get rid of Hardy.

As much as all of us like to armchair GM, when it comes to the Hardy situation we really only know two things:

-The situation is very fluid and could change at any time.

-Gettleman values his DE's, perhaps more than any other position. We already know he was willing to pay 13 mil to keep Hardy.

TL/dr: You may not have missed Hardy week 2 against the Lions. Week 1 in the playoffs, you will.

Ok, I'll bite/help you.  You're really going to BELIEVE in your constitution as a human being that Sports Illustrated is the end all be all of the formulation of your understanding/opinion on this incident?  Where in there have they interviewed Greg Hardy, posted any evidence of said injuries, etc, etc.  Do I really have to hold your hand and lead you to the only official, factually documents available (original sources are out there and very easy to find): the police report, the cause for warrant application, the (dismissed) application for a restraint order against Hardy, and the 911 calls audio and/or transcript.  Hell throw in the twitter court "testimony" and the extremely UN-natural procedure of that 10 hour bench trial and there you go.  LEARN.  READ.  REPEAT.  You'll feel better about yourself once you realize reading and enjoying the entertainment provided by SI/ESPN/MSM and having a fundamental understanding of facts CAN and are mutually exclusive in many cases.  And this is one of them.

There is more than SI reporting this story.  You're ignorant to believe so and just like most Panthers fans if this was a Saints player your tune would be much different.  You're all too close to the story and do not even realize that most people do not give two shits about Greg Hardy and this case.

Most are caught up on Adrian Peterson, Ray Rice, #FreeOurGirls, and looking for Chaundra Levy.  Most people are idiots but that does not excuse that Greg Hardy needs help.

Then quote BOTH sides of testimony.  Did you read about flying weed that Holder testified about?

Like I said, maybe he's guilty.  But there's a reason he was only charged with a misdemeanor.   Because there was no bodily harm.

I'm not hip enough or cool enough to know what Jon Snow is, but you ruined any response I'd give you because of your picture of something really stupid and irrelevant - sorry I am just not hip enough, but how about you show pictures of the victim instead?

There aren't any.  How about you read up on the entire 10 hour trial?  Then you are allowed to have an opinion.  Until then shut the fug up.

Her being high on coke doesn't mean anything.  She didn't deserve to be touched at all.  And Hardy calling 911?  A crazy moron would call 911.  He is both.

The truth is Hardy was about to get paid with a new contract.  Holder is already on record as saying she was with Nelly in the past. (I'm still waiting for Nelly to confirm that)  Hardy was breaking up with her, and had her stuff outside the apartment that night.  She probably went crazy on the thought of not having a piece of Hardy's money, and she attacked him.  After Hardy called the cops, she devised a scheme to extort money from Hardy through a civil trial.  Given her past and the information from both sides of what happened that night, this is probably the truth of the matter.

Proverbs 18:17

"The first to plead his case seems right, until another comes and examines him."  In this case, "the first to plead her case seems right".

your opinion is your opinion.  you state no facts, few here do.  its a message board for fanatics.  chill, dorothy.

Yet you're here using up your life stirring the pot for what purpose?  On a rival board leftover from a game in the past and you're the one lecturing on giving shits about the case.  The fact that you lead with implying I am UNAWARE of every other media outlet reporting on this demonstrates how weak your so-called arguments are.  I will not respond to any ad-hominem attacks and most likely any future post by you based on this initial interaction.

Your wrong. Period. I understand your confusion because the media has done a terrible job explaining NC law if not outright ignoring it. His situation is unique in that in the eyes of the law he is considered not guilty. Unlike other courts his appeal is not to refute his conviction. It is a whole new trial and the moment he got an appeal it's as if the bench trial never happened. Think of it this way, the bench trial NC uses funnels all misdemeanors to determine their validity before having to spend money on a jury trial.
