The Greg Hardy thread....for everything Hardy related

I'm not sure the trial matters anymore.

He's never playing football here again.

It's conceivable he'll ever suit up anywhere else again either.

That could be a strong possibility as well, and I would agree. However, the public has a short memory. Especially those that are not directly connected to the Panther organization. Vick did time in the clink and he was awarded a second chance. So, who's to say.

Not sure if he will be found truly innocent.. Even though he didn't mean to hurt her.. But alcohol and drugs bring out bad mojo which sounds like both sides are guilty of.. Plus being a gold digger is another issue.. Not justifying Hardy's actions he could have been being played and bit....like a dummy!!

When he's found innocent then I hope all those who proceeded with a defamation of character will be tried

defamation is a false statement of fact, not opinion. The most important aspect of a potentially defamatory statement is that it purports to be a statement of fact. Opinions are not defamatory. People have a right to express whatever opinions they like about other people.

The prosecution will have to prove beyond any reasonable doubt, to all 12 jurors that he is guilty.  Any doubt = innocent.  I just finished serving on a jury today that involved DV and the guy walked because there was reasonable doubt.  All 12 of us needed practically no time whatsoever to agree there was doubt, just a little, which is all it takes.

There is NO WAY Hardy will be found guilty without empirical, undeniable evidence.  Even then, all it takes is doubt in one juror's mind.

Hardy will be owed an apology when this is over.

That is not true at all. For example I can have an opinion that you're the biggest, fattest, flaming homo I know. If I report that and spread my opinion to anyone other than you that is liable for defamation of character. Especially if it causes damages either physically, mentally or monetarily.

The media is reporting these things as fact. That is the definition of reporting news. To report the facts. Not opinion. Hardy would have a case if his trial ends up preserving his innocence.

Hey guys, long time lurker (years), follow everything but just read, don't post.  Sorry but this made me mad and I'm tired of it.  The comment at the bottom is mine.  If I'm lucky, maybe they'll ban me.

I commented as well but mine has been removed.  All I did was ask David why, since in his opinion this has been a clear fumbling of things by the team for the last 65 days, why it took him, ESPN, and everybody else until 10 days ago to notice, especially him since its his only job to follow the Panthers.

I guess he didn't like that.
