Adrian Peterson deactivated AGAIN indefinitely

If Hardy had an OUNCE of good will in him, he would start donating money to battered women's shelters, start doing national ads for domestic violence, and release a statement about getting mixed up with drugs and alcohol--alcoholics always get a sympathy card excuse if they're popular enough.  None of this is automatically admissible at trial, and on top of that, would help to rebuild his image.  Unfortunately, the guy is a couple potatoes short of a full sack.

If Hardy is guilty, then he should plead guilty now. Immediately. Don't wait for November and a lengthy trial that would last the entire season. During his suspension he should go to rehab. Once his suspension is finished, he should leave rehab, rejoin the team, and start an apology tour. Go to the media, hat in hand, and hire a PR firm.

If he's innocent, then he's going to fight. He made it to the NFL fighting and not backing down, so he's going to fight a false accusation in court.

I think the Vikings made the right call here.

It sends the message that no one is protected anymore. If a superstar player like Peterson can be punished, anyone can.

Now that said, is this a bad sign for Greg Hardy's future? Probably.

Said it elsewhere: There was never a 'good time' for something like this to happen, but boy did Hardy pick absolutely the wrong time to be involved in a story like this.

Bs. I heard AD was being investigated in June I believe with a different charge. If so that's two different charges of child abuse. In my opinion one child abuse incident is worse than a domestic abuse incident.

Agree.

Children are innocent, especially one as young as 4 years old. Even mentioning this in the same breath as Hardy's situation in which there was probably pushing and shoving and screaming among possibly 2 coked up adults is ludicrous.

AP should be required to undergo counseling immediately. If he does not recognize that what he did was wrong then lock his ass up. What he did to that child is inexcusable to me.

Peterson still thinks he did nothing wrong.

And even with counseling, can you really bring him back? Child abuse is not the kind of thing someone's public image recovers from.

Also kids aren't gold digging pyscos and are not smart enough to come up with scams to get money off of NFL players.

Grant it I don't like to judge people's personal life. I think it's up to the courts to decide. The fact that he did have a child die of child abuse at the age of two in 2013 seems fishy to me. How could you abuse a child after having a child die of child

Adrian admitted to it, hardy is still saying he is innocent. There is also visiual evidence of adrian going to far, as well as that child services knew about the first child being hit in the head after cursing a family member; the mom reported it.  Hardys case is different. No audio to back up his claim she hurt herself and wanted to commit suicide and none on her side of him threatning her. No one saw it happen either. Only physical evidence is both with bruises on them. Its he said she said. You would think if this happened before, wouldnt family members be concerned for her health? In most cases they would be in the courtroom with her. Both were on something when this happened, and both at fault.

The sands are quickly shifting below the feet of the NFL and the Players Association.

What was acceptable punishment a few months ago is no longer sufficient to placate the NFL's corporate sponsors.

It is a bad time to be a player with DV issues in the NFL.

The league will do whatever it needs to survive and thrive.

If it means sacrificing a few of its star players to make sure that happens, consider it done.

I personally think the foot dragging in responding to these incidents by the NFL and Owners is because they are scared crapless about the advertisers.

Budweiser, Nike, Radisson don't want to be associated with these DV allegations.  What happens if they continue and say they don't want to support, with advertising dollars, any felons?  What if they decide they want to be family friendly and don't want to support individuals with kids all over the world, some of whom they haven't even met?  What if they decide they aren't going to pump their dollars into a league that is going the way of the NBA?

The NFL is fugged if the stream of real money decides they want a Non Felon League and Family Friendly League.  Keeping it clean, (Like most other companies in the world), won't work well for the NFL.
