Same here.  He tends to never have more than a 1-2 game lull.  Given their line, I see CJ and Star dominating Sunday night.

So, how in the hell are you supposed to tackle?  If they called that straight by the rule book, there would be a penalty flag on virtually every play.

 

If you are going to tackle a quarterback nowadays, never EVER run your body through them.

 

The only safe way to tackle them (as in, to not get flagged) is to get your arms around them and swing them to the ground.

looked like he led with the crown of his helmet to me and it came in contact with bens facemask...i don't like it. i'm a fan of big hits and tough football but the refs have been consistently throwing that flag for years now

Yea that possibility exists, but it's better than giving the offense 15 yards and a first down.

 

Even if they get away from you other defensive factors give you a chance to stop them.  Another guy might get to him to bring him down, poor throw, secondary makes a play, etc.

yeah for sure...i just feel bad for the dlineman who bust his hump to finally get a hit on the QB in game and he either has to softly caress him to the ground or get flagged

I think he lead with the crown of his helmet too, and the refs are going to call it every time unfortunately.

Just repeat last year's week 3 performance and we can move on to week 4.

 

Only thing that worries me is the young guys on the O-line going up against a 3-4 defense  (Turner, I'm looking at you).
