or a practice squad.

Seastrunk got signed to the practice squad of one of the most dominant teams in the NFL, the Panthers. Basically he made the Panthers' 63-man roster (53 plus 10 for practice squad) that is active for every Panthers practice. Practice squad players must be paid at least $6,300 per week, which totals $107,100 for a 17-week season. Not bad for someone who justed turned 23. Doctors don't make that until their late 20s after med school, residency, internship, etc...and that is working and being on-call all year, not just 17 weeks of work plus preseason

Once he cleared waivers, there is no telling how many teams approached Seastrunk's agent to get him on their practice squad, but I sure am glad he chose the Panthers. DeAngelo Williams is 31 and J Stew has struggled with injuries, so it's a good move by him

couple tweets from Dale Earnhardt Jr, who is a huge Redskins fan (for ex, after his recent win at Pocono, he was asked to name his simple joys. The Redskins finished second, only behind his girlfriend. “Amy, the Redskins, my family, drinking a cold beer,” Earnhardt answered.)

-"Seems Skins got some nice depth at WR and some hard decisions at RB."

-"Seastrunk shoulda been one of 53. #redskins"

Jay Gruden on why they drafted Seastrunk despite drafting a RB in three straight drafts before that:

"He was sitting there later on in the draft …and we had him ranked a little bit higher than that. ... The only weird thing about him is he didn’t catch any balls any Baylor, but they just don’t throw to their backs," Gruden said. "We feel like he can catch the ball good enough.”

...

“What we’re envisioning for him early on is not so much a third down guy but a guy that can spell [running back] Alfred [Morris] and hit the home run,” Gruden said. “He’s got the breakaway speed and hopefully in time he will be able develop into a pass blocker/receiver.”

-"Just seeing this, but the #Redskins released RB Lache Seastrunk. Has speed to burn. Imagine he'll find a home soon."

-"Given the immense physical talent RB Lache Seastrunk has, it's amazing to me that he's not on someone's practice squad."

-"The #Panthers announce they've signed RB Lache Seastrunk to their practice squad. Supreme talent. Hope he sticks."

NFL National Lead at Bleacher Report, Michael Schottey:

"Washington gets Lache Seastrunk, who was my No. 1 back…love his running style. Gets me outta my seat all the time."

John McClain, who has covered the NFL for the Houston Chronicle for 35 years:

"That's it! Rick Smith is officially done! How many times can a GM pass up an RB like Lache Seastrunk? It's over, Rick. Here's your pink slip"

ex-scout Daniel Jeremiah of NFL.com:

"I like the RBs in this draft. Good value in mid rds. Lache Seastrunk is a nice screen/draw type with HR speed."

Steelers beat reporter for the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, Gerry Dulac:

"Baylor RB Lache Seastrunk, who is visiting #Steelers today, is high on their RB list. Don't be surprised...."

Cleveland Browns Senior Media Broadcaster Nathan Zegura:

"He can fly! Middle round gem possibility RT @BUFootball : Lache Seastrunk just stole the show with an unofficial 4.35 40. #ProDayBU"

Chris B. Brown, editor of SmartFootball.com:

"Not a surprise to see Baylor RB Lache Seastrunk pacing the field in the vertical and broad jumps. Very explosive player, acceleration"

Gregg Rosenthal of NFL.com:

"Lache Seastrunk making an early bid for preseason MVP"

Ian Rapoport of NFL.com

"Holy cow, #Redskins RB Lache Seastrunk 80-yard TD vs. Bucs. Man can fly. A RB-needy team may be calling the Skins. Can’t keep all those guys"

Redskins analyst for 106.7 The Fan in DC, Grant Paulsen:

"Releasing Lache Seastrunk surprises me. I like Redd but I would've kept both. Keeping a 3rd QB over an upside- prospect is still silly to me."

A Redskins guy with 164,317 followers:

"Only the #Redskins would be dumb enough to let such a talent like Lache Seastrunk go."

Redskins Staff Reporter for The Sports Quotient:

-"Panthers signed Seastrunk. They got a gem."
