Harper 65 snaps, Godfrey 7

Both Kawann and Dwan got more snaps than Star. As CRA said, the Lions pass heavy offense was likely the reason behind that, but I think the defense as a whole benefits with Star collapsing the interior line.

 

I'd have been concerned if Cole was being given significant more snaps than Star.

 

I completely understand running Dwan and KK for a large portion of that game for the reason you stated.

It's Megatron. Getting beat by him doesn't make a guy suck. He's possibly the most gifted receiver to possibly every play.

although true about Megatron, Harper was in a bad position to even attempt to make that play. maybe it is a technique thing, but to many times he is out of position as a deep covering safety. that is not where he wins on the field. he did however have good coverage on Ebron where Luke played underneath on that seam/post route.

All Harper has done so far is not screw up which is light years better than Godfrey. So there is that..but he still is THE weak link out there. He might play 3 snaps vs GB.

Bene and Boston are the future nickle/SS and we'll no doubt be picking up more secondary players in the draft next year since Harper is so old.

Doesn't even have him as a safety and Bene is already a far superior nickle than Godfrey could ever hope to be. Godfrey's time is going to be limited this year and next year he's gone.

Godfrey's not in competition with bene............it's with a aging Harper and injured boston, bene replaces Captain, we can pick up whoever we please,they still have to beat him out in camp and/or preseason at ths point it would be too early to say he won't be on the team next year............

Boston is going to be fine and in no certain terms already possesses playmaking ability.  In college, he showed some inconsistency but made a lot of plays.  In any case, I would like to see him get some of Godfrey's snaps as the season progresses.

I read that Addison had the least snaps of all DEs and yet had the most sacks. I know it could be luck but still that's great for him.
