Watching the Colts Eagles game

Hey man these fan discussion forums exist for things like this.

And I care.  I love Cam and know he's an immensely talented football player.  I want others to be able to see and appreciate that as well.

I want people at sports bars asking for the Panthers game to be put on TV when their local game is over.  I want people to want to see the Carolina Panthers and Cam Newton make incredible plays.

we're a small market team. nobody cares or will care unless we rack up super bowl victories

Luck came in the league with a team that was in a good situation and he has managed the game well. Cam on the other hand well... this is his first year with twoWRs that can catch a ball.

Really Newton and Dalton are the only two young QBs that have came in and made a huge impact and Dalton has AJ Green.

Then learn how to appreciate Luck, Kaep, Wilson, RG3, etc as well. Maybe you should be one of those people at the sports bars asking for Colts game to be on tv (which they are anyways).

You're gonna have a tough fight with Jon Gruden to get some time in Luck's lap.  Gruden's been getting those tonsils massaged all night long.

Eli Manning is the Dale Earnhardt Jr of football. Both in their 30s (age 33, 39). Junior won two Daytona 500s, Eli won two Super Bowl MVPs...neither of the two would be as respected if it wasn't for the achievements of their family members that came before them

Andrew Luck (age 25) would be like NASCAR's Joey Logano (age 24). Both young hot shot starlings with their whole careers ahead of them

Whoah! I didn't mean to take you to a dark place. Haha. Good analogies though.

If I can add anything....I mean ANYTHING to this great and wonderful team it would be Chip Kelly as an OC. My God my mind is just going nuts just thinking about what he could do with Cam, not even mentioning the rest of the offense. But alas if we had that then the Panthers would be perfect and of course nothing is perfect in this world........... ( .__.)

Oh yeah I've got Eagles on the brain haha.

Designed run plays for Cam, and the read option, make Cam especially deadly. I like Cam's pocket passing, but he sails a few to high now and then.

Thats why you should be watching this game.  Point is quarterbacks (even great ones) miss, and more often then you'd think.

The majority of Cam's overthrows are when he's facing inside pressure and throws off his back foot.

I'm watching Luck consistently miss downfield throws, with good protection and open receivers.  He's scored 3 touchdowns on dump-off passes and completed maybe 3 passes downfield.

I'm just pointing out an area where Cam can improve, and I'm sure he is working on it. RR points it out as well. Sure Luck sails passes as well.

Yeah, but you're never going to eliminate that. It's part of the game, and they're many factors for it.

You can't always properly step into your throws in a dirty pocket (per your potential Rivera comments).

Notice Cam sailed very few the last game, and he still threw some off his back foot?

Having better receivers who can catch those balls make a big difference as well. Last two years Cam's receivers were substandard and missing balls that most NFL receivers catch on the regular.

High passes aren't necessarily UN-catchable (unless you were a Carolina receiver last year). I see numerous QB's sail passes every NFL game, and thy're caught by their receivers.

This is why Gettleman cleaned house last year to the bewilderment of most in the National media. They sucked!

My buddy is a huge Eagles fan and I swear he has wet dreams about that offense with Cam Newton.

I was speaking about the Panthers against Detroit Sunday.

I was illustrating the point, that Cam's as much as a pocket passer as Luck. He just also has the ability  to make incredible runs to go along with his pocket ability.

Neither are super polished yet, and I'm including Luck in saying that.

Both Kaep, RG3, and even Wilson are behind Cam and Luck in their pocket ability, and if they had to rely on their own skills, sans much help from their team.

Luck is on a somewhat better team, offensively than Cam.

Geesh, there's a game on, and it's the only one on the TV at the moment.

What do some people expect? Lol

I'm talking standard Sunday games.  So I want people in Buffalo bars to switch to the 4 o'clock Panthers game after the 1o'clock Bills game is over, for instance.

Why does this thread happen every time Luck plays on National TV?

Because there is a small section of this board of VERY soft Panthers fans who get butthurt 24/7 because the media likes Luck, RGIII, Cap, and Wilson more than Cam. They will never, ever be pleased or stop whining until the media starts to talk about Cam every single second so that these SOFT fans can feel better about themselves.

It's also funny when these threads start too soon. Luck now has 140 yds and 3 TDs. Oops.
