Question about car trade in?

Wow....did not know that.

I remember when 48 months was the most anyone would give on a used car.

I guess with the shift in the automotive market (more people buying used cars) this was necessary.

My credit union will give 84 months as long as the car is less than 4 years old. And they will refinance any loan, if you have enough equity in the car, or enough cash to cover the difference between what its worth and what you owe.

Yeah I thought about refinancing it, but it isn't the car that I really want.

The reason I got the Avenger was because they told me that was the only car they could put me in that was in my price range at the time. My credit score wasn't high enough so I had to get a co-signer.

Honestly, and I hate to tell you this, but you don't make enough/have enough to have the car "you want".

You are upside down in a Dodge, and looking at a way out of that....good luck.

You need to give us more details, many whom have commented in this thread have probably bought many cars, and can help, buy you may be as cooked as a Christmas goose, especially with the co-signer that is wrapped up in this with you.

How old are you, do you have credit cards, how much payment are you wanting, what are the terms on the car you drive now, who co-signed with you, can you get them off by re-financing with a credit union?

You are probably stuck with this car for at least 1.5-2 more years, and that's only if you stop driving as much.  Go get a second job, start cutting expenses, and as soon as you can sell the car for what its worth do so immediately.
