2014 WR Tracker (old vs new)

You wanna pay Ginn $3.3mil to return punts & drop passes?

He wasn't even that great as a returner last year.

I didn't say that. All I said was his return TD is relevant to this discussion and it is. Never said I would've paid him $3m per to stay. I'm happy with our WRs now and the only thing I would change if I were Gettleman was I would've tried to talk to Smitty and be open with him and see if we could work out a new deal for him to stay this year and not pick up the option for the next 2 years. Smitty in the slot with KB and Cotch on the outside would be great to see. And Olsen on the line.

Ginn had a TD, but also I don't get the point of this. These guys aren't Panther's anymore, let it go. Not to mention I think LaFell and Ginn are like 4th/5th on the depth chart on their new teams.

I think the point is to do the reporting that our journalists are supposed to be doing.  ALL reporting about our offense has been about losing our receivers; what's so wrong about doing some reporting to refute those statements?

It's okay I guess. :|

Though if you're trying to refute narratives from ESPN, NFLN, BR, ect it's going to take a LOT of posting. I mean those guys basically make clickbait for money. I myself really try to stay away from new media, especially sports news media.

Ginn was I think 9th in return yards on punts, middle of the road on kicks. He really was middle of the pack and we have been so awful for so long at KR/PR that I think we put the Ginn on a pedestal.

Yeah, but I think everyone kind of could see his potential. Before him it was SCARY bad.

You are everything not that asheville embodies. Every one of your posts i've read seems to either be argumentative or cynical in nature. Stop. It's a great day to enjoy and bask in glory of win. It's sports. It's not strategizing war moves.

I agree with that, but I think the post is really meant for us Panther fans; after all, that's who the reporting is meant for--the fans.

Okay? Well I guess you've missed my posts praising our secondary, Kuechly, and defensive gameplan. I am critical of our offensive gameplan (run yardage, yuck), and am not chest beater after winning two games however.

To quote Cam "be humble or be humbled".

You don't get the point? Here it is. So many of the 'experts' were saying we'd be weaker at WR, even after the roster was set. So far, we're not.

As for let it go, why? It's good news, not a complaint. And what the former Panthers are doing this season has no bearing at all on the point of the post.

Hah, I guess you guys like an echo chamber. You could just tweet these people who offended you in the offseason instead of just shaking each others hands patting each other on the back.

What I love about the new corps is that it's not dependant on any one player, last week Cotchery and Avant were quiet while Benjamin stood out while today Benjamin had a quieter game with Cotchery and Avant stepping up along with Olsen who was strong in both games, it's not like last year where it was basically Smith/Olsen for the passing game
