Cam was sacked and hit quite a bit. :|

Most of that was his issue. He just won't throw the ball away. When he ses a blitz he tries to run and doesn't focus on finding the hot read. I still think they are figuring it out. Which is understandable given the amount of time he missed.

Overall I was really worried about Cam coming out rusty and flat. I have to say he made some great plays today. I was very pleased on both sides of the ball.

Let's be real here. With all the new faces and changes to the offense the fact we are scoring at all is a glowing testament to all the offensive coaches and the hard work they have all done. Both Anderson and Newton have played well in successive weeks.

Actually it's pretty much on point.

Actually it's a blind opinion probably from someone who doesn't know many fans from other teams.

I know plenty of NE, Philly, GB, Den, SD, NO, SF and IND fans who are just fine with their offense/play calling.

That's already a third of the league and there are many offenses that have been strong over the last several years with little to complain about(except maybe defense hah)

Oh yea and most NFL fans don't actually play Madden and the people who always bring that up clearly get a lot of their experience from a such thing or other people who play it and act however they act.

My best friend is a diehard Arizona fan, and he also loves their offensive play calling, but of has a serious love & hate thing going with Palmer.

Take a tour of message boards around the league, even for teams with successful offenses.

Every team has that element in their fanbase.

The original post put a blanket on fan base not elements of but outliers don't make a fan base.

There are elements of every fan base that does/acts like *x*.....

Cam and the Panthers always look good when we go hurry up and start slinging the ball around.

This should be our base O.

Credit to Shula for making some adjustments. Although, not sure how much credit one deserves as it was quite obvious the run was not gonna work. We got stonewalled in the backfield or at the LOS on 90% of run plays.

Our offense generally does best when we passing 65-70% of the time.

We just do not have the OL to be a run first team.

Pass protection was not good today. The pocket was collapsing and Cam got hit, pressured, and sacked quite a bit.

Still better than the run blocking.

It sure helps Shula and the offense when the defense gets 3 turnovers a game...

Six turnovers in two games is pretty damn sick.

Most folks don't seem to understand what you obviously do, the in game adjustments were outstanding but it takes time many games to figure out what is going to work. You go in with a gameplan and you see what happens. It is a chess match going back and forth with both sides making adjustments. The team that makes the best adjustments wins,

I thought stupid penalties and taking sacks instead of throwing the ball away killed several of the drives.

That'll usually do it.  And you can't blame Shula for those (unless the routes take too long to develop).

I didnt read this entire circle jerk thread but I know how it went.

Shula hater: Shula is horrible as an OC, he runs such a predictable offense.

Shula supporter:  Well, we did score 24 points.

Hater: Yeah because Cam bailed him out

Supporter: What about the misdirection/wrinkles he threw in like the *insert unique play we run once a game*

Hater: And then he goes back to run-run-pass from a 3rd and long situation

Supporter: He's got a positive W/L record

Hater: I hate you

Supporter: I hate you

Guys, step back and look at it from this perspective.  Its a team game.  11 people on offense.  If one or two of the OL doesnt get their block or pull fast enough, guess what happens, the RB gets stuffed at the LOS.  If they make the block, we get 4+ yards.  If Cam looks to his left and doesn't see the wide open 3rd receiver because he's focused on his 1st and 2nd reads, it must be Shula's fault that Cam made a pass off his back foot into double coverage.

Shula's play calling has been outstanding given the circumstances, i.e., Cam not being in training camp, new WRs, no experience on the OL after Kalil, injured/old RBs, defensive minded HC, etc.

It will be easy to improve upon our bottom ranked offense from last year.
