I think Shula has done a better job than most people realize.  Last year, we won the division with a line that wasn't very good at run blocking and a receiver corps whose best player is in the twilight of his career.  I do think we have a few more weapons this year, although the offensive line is still a question mark.

Of course, in all the years I have been posting here, I don't think the Huddle as a group has ever liked any of our offensive coordinators.  Not that the Huddle is alone in that regard, most fan bases tend to dislike the coordinators, unless they win a couple of Superbowl's.

Shula calls no huddle, and then Cam gets to be Cam. Shula calls generic draw up the gut run plays back to back then a 30 yard bomb and he gets to be Shula.

I'm just saying I felt the plays wore more diverse under Foxball than Shulaball, and that's sad with Cam as our QB. With Foxball we at least ran more smoke routes, play action passes, and slants.

Not necessarily. No huddle when done right for either a change of pace or lighting a fire under the offense can be smart.

The Lions would prefer Cam be Cam and just try to nail him. Ball control was also good d.

Some of you guys are so fanboy you overlook the need for various strategies and slight of hand to win.

Took him how long to figure out face paced offense? We should be running up tempo as our main offense all the time....it suits Cam and so do the misdirection type of plays.

It would be awesome if we could get him on some boots more as well.

On several plays they would have worked out just fine though but holding calls....pissed me off too that we get called for holding seemingly more than our opponents even though we know CJ/Hardy are held on almost every play.

I've never been a Shula fan but I have to admit I love the way we went to up tempo passing after it was clear we weren't going to be able to run the ball effectively in the 1st quarter. Gotta give him credit for making the adjustment, especially after we didn't always do that last year

Lions were focused on getting in the backfield early and often.

Once this was identified and threw in just enough misdirection we were able to get the ball moving.

Most folks don't seem to understand what you obviously do, the in game adjustments were outstanding but it takes time many games to figure out what is going to work. You go in with a gameplan and you see what happens. It is a chess match going back and forth with both sides making adjustments. The team that makes the best adjustments wins,

I thought stupid penalties and taking sacks instead of throwing the ball away killed several of the drives.

Ball control only works when you can get first downs. I think you're overlooking this.

I liked the tempo more than before. Cam looked pretty calm in the pocket throwing. IMO he needed a great passing/volume passing game to boost his confidence throwing the ball. Note that our WR looked pretty good too. I lthink we do well in a spread... keep it balanced

The offensive line was stout in pass protection on most plays but nonexistent getting a push in the run game. I don't think play calling was the issue.
