Rivera Deactivated Hardy Himself

Black

First offense for domestic violence is six games.... If the NFL is going to wait for the jury trial verdict, then why the hell would you sit him all the way until November? The guy will get his day in court, and will have to serve a suspension if guilty. I get that folks wanted to see something happen to Hardy now, but beyond sitting him today, why continue to sanction him when you have to sanction him after the trial?

Also fug the media and ESPN... this is garbage. Again, there is absolutely no proof that Hardy abused this coke *****.

He tried to get her out of his house and even called 911 himself. Only in America does a man call 911 to have police come assist him in removing a hostile person from his home and HE gets arrested.

I think Rivera did change his mind regarding this compared to before the Tampa game.... I think he decided it was becoming too big of a distraction now for his team. I'm not saying it was his decision alone, but management is letting him own it. I'd be willing to bet there will be a clarification on where this goes moving forward, just isn't going to be discussed today.

The prosecution showed enough proof for Hardy to be convicted.  But in the state of NC he is allowed to receive a jury trial.  But to say there was no proof is just false.

Consider the following:

Aside from the girl, the only witness attesting to her version of events is a neighbor in the building who admitted she saw nothing and only heard a lot of banging and screaming.

The cop on the scene saw nothing and the girl avoided him entirely as she admitted she was carrying cocaine and was both inebriated and doped up at the time.

Hardy placed his own 911 call asking for a police response

Only days before, Hardy had maneuvered to have the girl's crap taken away form his house by tricking her into going to Miami

The friend who came with the girl testified on Hardy's behalf, specifying that the accuser told her that she wanted to get back at Hardy for kicking her out of his place

The North Carolina judicial system is a fuged up railroading calamity. The entire reason Hardy was "found guilty" is because to keep poor people from having their rightful jury trials the state forces cases to go through a bench trial first, and then only people who can afford appeals actually get their due process with a jury. THIS IS AGAINST THE CONSTITUTION

There's no actual physical evidence of an assault taking place. Bruises can be self-inflicted or caused by engaging in offensive fighting; aside from that, there's no eyewitnesses or video or pictures substantiating the claims in question.

The judge in this case is a renowned member of anti-domestic violence organizations, and she could not be trusted to be impartial as she specifically requested to adjudicate the case

The judge herself admitted the only reason she found Hardy guilty was because of the testimony of the neighbor who didn't see anything, saying that she had nothing to gain by her actions. SHE DIDN'T SEE ANYTHING.

What the girl accused Hardy of ranged from getting her arm stuck in a toilet lid to being thrown onto a bed of assault rifles to getting her arm broken to miraculously her arm is fine and it was really her shoulder that he broke to OK the shoulder's fine, I just have some bruises your honor. . .

I saw this breakdown posted on Reddit.  Thought it was a good argument in regards to Hardy's innocence.

Considering making this my sig...

I'm no longer a Hardy fan for all sorts of reasons, but the reality is you can't cut him and save his salary, and you can't just deactivate him all year. As an organization they need to balance sanctioning him because of the guilty verdict already handed down with the jury trial coming up.

In front of a bra burning judge. It's not like the prosecution had much of job in front of them.

Sorry if i don't see it her way. To find him guilty with no concrete evidence combined with the shaky testimony of a golddigging drug addict is despicable.

How in the hell are you staff here with this kind of weird opinion? Because somebody does coke that takes away all their legal rights to not be assaulted and victimized? Blame the victim more.

I'm sure you'd be this mad if this were Matt Ryan being run through the mud for being found guilty of threatening a woman and restraining her against her will.

But hey, if defending a wife beater who is getting paid exorbitantly on a one year deal after asking for too much money and being a general headcase and dates, by your description, "coke whores", then by all means continue. I'll just applaud his backup who had 2.5 sacks today and 4 hits on the QB. Next man up. Or in this case, first man up because the first guy we had isn't even a man for threatening a woman's life. No matter how much you'd love to blame her for Hardy's misgivings. Let's all apologize for the poor little millionaire with a cache of weapons threatening a woman he had been in a relationship with who is purportedly a coke *****.

Damn, Bob Costas has a hard on for destroying Greg Hardy and the Panthers as well ... Again, what was the positive to deactivating Hardy at 11:29AM today?  Still getting slammed by the media.  No production for $0.77M/wk.  I'm still in shock honestly that an owner and organization can be bullied by Hannah Storm's  tears and Ray Lewis' murderer's morality.  Just wow.
