Rivera Deactivated Hardy Himself

Black

Recommended Posts

Sadly, I think Hardy played his last down last Sunday with the Panthers.  I'll believe Rivera's comments when I see it concerning Hardy being active for the rest of the year.  With that said, here's a random saint fan's reaction after his team lost today....

"We just plain suck. I am so damned pissed that my wife couldn't take it and left the house. This isn't worth it."

Probably got nagged about the whole thing all week and decided to do it last minute and to give another week to decide a course of action. If he is serious about activating him the rest of the season then he probably realized during the game we really need Hardy.

there will be new news to take the spotlight on the subject off of hardy

pressure valve.

this gives us some breathing room PR-wise, which is important. ultimately the same reason minnesota deactivated AD… we'll see what happens next.

What no one thought about: The firestorm that would have accompanied next weeks prime time game vs the Steelers with Hardy in the line up. Maybe this was a preemptive move, knowing they couldn't win the PR war (especially with that game coming up next week during prime time)?

The spotlight would have been way too much, when you think of it.

Honestly, it could just be that Rivera didn't trust Hardy to have his head in the game and felt more comfortable rolling with Mario.

In hindsight, it was a good call regardless.

You can't say it was a "good call." With Hardy we could've shut them out. The call ended up not mattering that's for sure, but it wasn't necessarily good, just as it may not have been bad.
