How did WE do this? We as fans didn't make hardy fug a coke head. We didn't put him into a position to be accused of things he says he hasn't done. We didn't say we were going to allow the judicial process to be exhausted. And WE sure as hell didn't stab him and the Panthers in the back with this bullshit. fug JR. That is all.

They said it all week, got kicked in the balls all week, said it didn't matter they were sticking to their guns all week, then punked out and deactivated him an hour before the game.

 

Either do what you think is right, or do whatever your media master tells you to do, but it makes no sense whatsoever to get reamed all week only to wuss out at the last minute..

You act as if no one has ever won an appeal.  In your way of thinking all those men who have been found innocent of murder or rape after spending years in jail should still be in jail because some "judge" said they were guilty.

Today, right now, he is guilty of misdemeanor domestic assault, regardless of what he is trying to do on appeal.  You are guilty until proven innocent if appealing a conviction.  This is not my way of thinking--it is common law.

He is guilty of a misdemeanor domestic assault until November when he will attempt to get the conviction overturned--he is not innocent or pending until November.  There is nothing "pending" in the eyes of the law if a verdict has been rendered.  In NC, he is given a guaranteed appeal (in other words, it does not have to be granted, as in the aftermath of a trial case). 

 

However, you seem to miss the fact that the PR is at issue, not the law.  Maybe the Panthers should have suspended him earlier--but the fault and blame goes to Hardy.

I think that every NFL player should be deactivated pending legal issues. Once a jury determines guilt or innocence, then they can be either reinstated or dismissed. Unfortunately, the NFL's standard of conduct policy hasn't been uniformly followed. Truth be told, Greg should have been deactivated in May until he could resolve his legal issues.  Is it dumb that a bench court screwed him? Absolutely. Is there a gross over reaction by the media? Sure. But in applying an even standard for all players, the deactivation until completion of legal courses should be the new rule for all (this goes for drug issues and anything else that might cause someone to get arrested). I hope Greg wins out and gets the last laugh. 

 

Oh and that BS Ray Lewis said this morning about Greg - pot calling kettle black here. Out of all commentators, he needs to quit piling on. Must be nice to be put on trial for murder, be convicted of obstruction to justice, and still play in the NFL...possibly on his way to Canton. Pathetic. 

 

It is quite rich to watch a panel of people, one of whom is Ray Lewis, opine about this kind of thing.  Talk about the ultimate in grandfathering.  I guess if OJ was out they would have him on there telling us all how we should act and think.
