They won't be embarrassed. They will simply NOT COVER IT, or it'll be a 5 second snippet just so they can say they mentioned it. It's the same game they play in politics. They blow something out of proportion, then when it ends up being nothing, they never set the record straight.

Anyone who's happy they got their way should go take a shotgun to their heads.

THE US MEDIA IS THE BIGGEST PROBLEM WITH THE WORLD. Convinces the citizens of the most powerful country on the planet to make mistake after mistake, and does so intentionally.

Understand their agenda or get out.

Anybody who remembers the Richard Jewell situation from the 90's knows the media will destroy anyone and everyone (as long as it fits within their worldview of course) if it helps their ratings.  Greg Hardy could get acquitted, drive home and put a bullet in his brain and nobody in the national media could cover it other than to blame the violent nature of the NFL and to use it as proof football should be outlawed.  They would take no responsibility whatsoever because they never have.  Its surprising to me that anyone pays any attention to them at all, much less caves to their warped irrational thoughts and opinions.

This is nobody but Hardy's fault and I said he needs to sit earlier. Don't sit him until the trial but let him sit a game or two by being dumb if nothing else

Handling of Hardy is a Panther issue....open to criticism. They handled it poorly

One of the truest things I've ever read! The media is the damn Devil!

Ed Werder claiming he is told it is Carolina not NFL making the decision

That jives with Panthers spokesperson also claiming it would be addressed in post game by Rivera. Easy to claim league did it and be done with it then

Many others have said the contrary.

Of course, the NFL is gonna say it's the Panthers decision, cause the NFL didn't suspend Hardy officially. If they did, he wouldn't be getting paid.

Umm, the judgement is set aside and is "pending" status as of now. He is not guilty at the moment.

He is guilty of a misdemeanor domestic assault until November when he will attempt to get the conviction overturned--he is not innocent or pending until November.  There is nothing "pending" in the eyes of the law if a verdict has been rendered.  In NC, he is given a guaranteed appeal (in other words, it does not have to be granted, as in the aftermath of a trial case).

However, you seem to miss the fact that the PR is at issue, not the law.  Maybe the Panthers should have suspended him earlier--but the fault and blame goes to Hardy.

I think that every NFL player should be deactivated pending legal issues. Once a jury determines guilt or innocence, then they can be either reinstated or dismissed. Unfortunately, the NFL's standard of conduct policy hasn't been uniformly followed. Truth be told, Greg should have been deactivated in May until he could resolve his legal issues.  Is it dumb that a bench court screwed him? Absolutely. Is there a gross over reaction by the media? Sure. But in applying an even standard for all players, the deactivation until completion of legal courses should be the new rule for all (this goes for drug issues and anything else that might cause someone to get arrested). I hope Greg wins out and gets the last laugh.

Oh and that BS Ray Lewis said this morning about Greg - pot calling kettle black here. Out of all commentators, he needs to quit piling on. Must be nice to be put on trial for murder, be convicted of obstruction to justice, and still play in the NFL...possibly on his way to Canton. Pathetic.
