I repeat, I think the NFL HQ had as much to do with this as the media.

Remember, the Panthers had asked the NFL earlier how to handle the Hardy case, and they were told "let the legal system play itself through".

So now the NFL, does this to them? SMH

I know JR ultimately made the decision. But when you receive pressure from the NFL head office, you know it's more than just football involved, and protecting "The Shield" and the NFL's image becomes paramount.

Minnesota, didn't do the Panthers any favors as well with the AP incident.

Ed Werder claiming he is told it is Carolina not NFL making the decision

That jives with Panthers spokesperson also claiming it would be addressed in post game by Rivera. Easy to claim league did it and be done with it then

He was convicted by a judge--they make legal judgements, hence the term, "judge."  Passing judgements about the front office, are we?

You act as if no one has ever won an appeal.  In your way of thinking all those men who have been found innocent of murder or rape after spending years in jail should still be in jail because some "judge" said they were guilty.

They won't be embarrassed. They will simply NOT COVER IT, or it'll be a 5 second snippet just so they can say they mentioned it. It's the same game they play in politics. They blow something out of proportion, then when it ends up being nothing, they never set the record straight.

Anyone who is happy they got their way AGAIN should go take a shotgun to his head.

THE US MEDIA IS THE BIGGEST PROBLEM WITH THE WORLD. Convinces the citizens of the most powerful country on the planet to make mistake after mistake, and does so intentionally.

Understand their agenda or get out.

Don't be gettin all zeitgeisty.

That's why if anyone should be suspending Hardy, its the NFL, not the Panthers.   If the league suspends him then he loses game pay and the clock starts to tick on the 6 games.  Us deactivating him still allows him to get paid and since he isn't suspended it doesn't count towards the 6 games either, (although they may be able to go back retroactively and count it, I really don't know).

Us deactivating him today doesn't hurt Hardy at all really, but it hurts the team which is why ESPN has been wanting us to do it all week.  They all picked us to suck this year and since we won last week suddenly they want to force us to dump our best defensive lineman.

You gotta wonder about this one, cause ESPN has been increasingly bombastic and focused on the Panthers this week, reaching a crescendo this morning, which no doubt helped the NFL help the Panthers make this decision.

In all fairness though; Minnesota sat Adrian Peterson, who's much more important to his team as a single player than Hardy is on a loaded Panther DL

My exact thoughts. You could tell the awkwardness of the sudden news in that room. Ray better not day poo.

You guys do know this on Greg Hardy and not Ray Lewis right, damn. Ray ain't got poo to do with Hardy getting in trouble. Let the man do his job and turn the channel.
