i meant to post on this the other day. i heart maloproprisms. those alone keep me going at work.

 

nothing better than seeing a higher up throw the egg up in the air and then walk directly under it when they send out mass emails.

 

One classic at work. We had this big meeting with executives from Freddie and Fannie about a new program for loan modifications and how to thin down the inventory of toxic mortgages etc.

One dude at the big shiny boardroom table goes, " if we roll this out, the incentive is there. i say the OMEN is on them."

 

and then ole pstall is doubling over and looks around and notices nobody caught it.

Using a and an. There are exceptions such as the phrase below:

 

"He has a unique perspective and spoke for an hour."

 

In this case, the first article "a" sounds like the letter Y therefor no "an." Hour is pronounced "ow" so therefor it is treated like a vowel.

Incorrect use of the reflexive is one that you see otherwise smart people use. "Myself and John are leading the seminar."

Another one I hate is when people use 'enormity' as the plural to enormous.
