National Interest in Hardy just ended....

Media cares, what 2 months after his bench trial?

I commend the NFL and Panthers for trying to do right by Hardy instead of cave to national pressure.

After he has his trial by jury, if he is found guilty he deserves whatever punishment is necessary, 6 games or whatever.

Someone on twitter said I am biased because I am a Panthers fan. And that may be true. We all hold personal biases even when we try to be fair. Same thing goes for a judge on a bench trial which is why you are allowed to request a trial by jury

Incorrect. My parents never drew blood & I never had cuts, welts, bruises days later from a spanking, switch or otherwise.

Me neither but it wasn't that long ago that teachers had paddles in their classroom. And when I was growing up the neighbor kid had to go pick his own switch and nobody seemed alarmed.

If my current neighbor beat his kid with a reed somebody would call CPS

Peterson has had a rough life:

Peterson grew up in little Palestine, Texas. When he was 7, his 8-year-old brother Brian was riding his bicycle when he was killed by a drunk driver. Years later, his half-brother, Chris Paris, was shot and killed the night before Peterson worked out for scouts and coaches at the NFL combine.

His mother, Bonita Jackson, was a former Olympic sprinting hopeful and his father, Nelson Peterson, spent eight years behind bars for laundering drug money yet still managed to be a positive influence on his son's life.

"I told him to always introduce himself, look a man in the eye, give him a firm handshake and say, 'I'm Adrian Peterson,'" Nelson said at the Pro Bowl in 2009. "Respect others. That will take you a long way in life."

Peterson rushed for 2,960 yards and 32 touchdowns during his senior season at Palestine High School, then racked up an NCAA freshman record 1,925 yards in his freshman season at Oklahoma in 2004. He hasn't looked back, even with some bumps in the road.

Last season, not long after finding out that he had a 2-year-old son living in South Dakota, Peterson rushed to the hospital after authorities said the boy was brutally beaten by his mother's boyfriend. The boy died, and a 28-year-old man is scheduled to go on trial next month on second-degree murder charges in the case.

Hardin, the defense attorney, is a familiar name in sports circles. He successfully defended Roger Clemens in his recent perjury trial over the alleged use of performance-enhancing drugs and two years ago represented Los Angeles Lakers forward Jordan Hill, who was sentenced to one year of probation after pleading no contest to assaulting his former girlfriend.

He has worked with Peterson before, too: In 2012, he said Peterson was the victim after the player was charged with misdemeanor resisting arrest following an incident at a Houston nightclub.

His wife really fuged this one up for AP and ultimately the kid. This is not the way to handle the situation if you are looking for positive outcome.

I just have to ask, what is the course of action that results in a positive outcome for the child, AP and herself? From this post I take it that you are condemning her for taking her child to the doctor. This obviously isn't about a one-time loss of control. AP himself said he was concerned that the 4 year old didn't cry, so he was going to have to figure out a new approach. Abuse at that level must be exposed to get corrected. AP is likely emotionally damaged by abuse himself and needs help to break the cycle. This isn't about spankings, or even "getting a switch", it's about child abuse and emotional abuse so severe the participants literally can hardly see or understand how out of control they are until someone steps in.

I got my ass beat with a switch that I had to pick out myself. but after seeing the pics AP lost control

Same here.

My mom would make me go get my own switch. If it was not satisfactory, then she would go get one. You did NOT want that.

But, AP did cross the line based on the pics.

that was sort of my point with the "faux".  whatever AP's intention was i'm not gonna get outraged.  this type of stuff just doesn't elicit that kind of response out of me.  folks can't control their emotions. especially the ones who speak the loudest on social media etc.

at the end of the day he disciplined his kid. nothing wrong with it unless it was serious abuse. the media can't prove that so I guess the theme of this year is get rid of key players through their actions off the field.

I suggest reading through the thread. Pics were posted of his child with open wounds and bruises all over his legs and there are text of him admitting and articles where he has admitted doing it.  I personally don't think the league should do anything til his trail if he is found guilty.

So I have to suffer, be humiliated, & endure the proverbial "slings & arrows". Not only that, but he will test me by making my life worse, or tempting me with good fortune that has some kind of sin attached that I constantly have to worry about. All so I can hang out with a guy that demands I fear him after I die...

Nope, not worth it.

lol far off but your experience with him is yours, no one can tell you what HE has in store for you. HE does not tempt you, your flesh does that as it also tell you what not to do. HE has expected the fact that you have and will fall short of HIS expectations, you are to understand that HE made a way for you to not get what those that reject HIM are due. Salvation is required. Jesus said in John 14: 12 Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father. 13 And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. 14 You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it. 15 “If you love me, keep my commands. 16 And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another advocate to help you and be with you forever— 17 the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be[c] in you. 18 I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you.19 Before long, the world will not see me anymore, but you will see me. Because I live, you also will live. 20 On that day you will realize that I am in my Father, and you are in me, and I am in you. 21 Whoever has my commands and keeps them is the one who loves me. The one who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I too will love them and show myself to them.”

Oh its worth it... dying with a Savior isn't.

The first Grand Jury didnt charge him, it went to a 2nd Grand Jury and then he was indicted. Which is a little strange to me.

But the cases has photo evidence, just like Ray Rice has video evidence. Greg Hardy's case has no photos (if she was so bruised why no photos) or videos

I believe AP was only trying to discipline the child, but he lost control. Plus it was only a 4 yr old, there never should have been a switch on a 4 yr old, A good hand pop on the ass would have been enough.

no need in going back to see what's in the thread, I'm not his judge but there is a thin line between  discipline and abuse and without me seeing the pictures I know it was one or the other and these things will continue to happen. Personally I would never abuse my children but I surely would discipline them as I do. A parent most know where NOT to take it. This is why marriage joined homes often have less of these abuse issues. On a side note, it will suck to get hit by a Pro Athlete. smh

    • Honestly, it wasn't on him last game. There are many other reasons that come before Bryce. Dave Canales is really starting to worry me. I mean there are glaring issues that can't be excused. I said back when the whole Rico/Chubba thing happened. I said right then that you cannot have a coach that handled those 4 or 5 games the way he did. I get it, most thought that he was trying to throw games, which was not wrong thinking because of how bad it was. The decisions right before half. The strict "Chubba gets this drive and Rico gets the next." It's seeming like a lot of our backups are the better talent, so he cant evaluate talent. Not calling a quarterback sneak because of size. Small quarterback have a different type of advantage, just not as good as a large quarterback, but still doable. Then he doesn't even explain why he didn't put Dalton in there (saying it would give away a quarterback sneak is...just stop). I honestly think he forgot about putting in Dalton. There are so many others that I'd have to re-watch the games to remember.  I could make a whole other post on that defensive game plan...absolutely awful. And a quick petition...see the quote above, can we please ban these weirdos and try to clean this place up. This is peak reddit right here and these losers will destroy the board. I couldn't make it though 3 pages because these morons post more than anyone else. These are the perpetual online freaking weirdos banned from getting too close to schools reddit mod types. Get these losers out of here. You got these freaks posting a ton and not answering the question OP posted ABOUT THE PANTHERS. This is supposed to be about football and this dork constantly tries to attack OP's question. Could you imagine someone in your real life group acting like this? You'd kick his butt out immediately. And you have this reddit loser trying to stop people for posting about the Panthers. Any normal person would just skip the post, but you have to remember these morons base their whole personality on their online persona. They would be banned almost everywhere else. Send him back to reddit, they will be a cancer to this place, trust me. I guarantee you he has more comments than 95% of accounts. These guys are the lowest in society so they live online. Its everything to them. You dont want that. Just read his responses. Do background check on that guy, there are younger people on this too and he probably isn't allowed to be talking to them, or be on here at all.
    • Neither of them are getting in. Cam had HOF potential but was squandered by Ron, Shula, and Gettlemen.
    • We have attempted several over the past two seasons. Maybe two successful?
