I read he just whooped the kid with a switch, nothing none of us hasn't had happen to us before as children

Yeah I think all 4 year old should be beat until they have open wounds all over their legs. And it's not a real punishment until you give their nuts a good hit.

no need to get outrages at all, this stuff happens all the time. the media is buggin'...

that was sort of my point with the "faux".  whatever AP's intention was i'm not gonna get outraged.  this type of stuff just doesn't elicit that kind of response out of me.  folks can't control their emotions. especially the ones who speak the loudest on social media etc.

While we're here blowing this Ray Rice and AP crap all over tv, ISIS chopped off two Americans heads off, and five kids were killed then their bodies dumped off in Alabama.

True but it's still not irony. Irony would be if another terrorist group chopped off the head of al ISIS member or if ray rice got a new girlfriend and she punched him in the face and it was captured on video.

there is only one to give reverence to my friend but your belief is your belief. No one can make you believe however many can persuade you. btw screaming "I'm sorry Jesus" before you die will not bring forth a disney ending. lol... its going to rough in the end and is already in motion... even people that have accepted the Lord Jesus in their lives but not do his work can still be in question. Yes some Grandmas are in question! Living a true Christian lifestyle is harder than one can imagine. Looking at the surface it seems one could do this or that but when God tests and stretch you in HIS purposes, discomfort occurs in your life and reality sets in that you must lean on him and not your own misunderstanding. Going to church does not make you a Christian, nor being nice, nor simply reading the bible. There is much humiliation that comes with it: dealing with those that reject your tasks that YOU are required to handle, you experience the hatred given to Jesus' as you come to understand they hate HIM not you yet remain willing to do HIS will, and release yourself from wickedness as you grow. One must be on fire for HIM regardless of who tries to put it out! Jesus confirmed it in Rev 3, "15 I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either one or the other! 16 So, because you are lukewarm—neither hot nor cold—I am about to spit you out of my mouth."

Thus, "Jesus save me!" before I die is a total fail. lol

PEACE

So I have to suffer, be humiliated, & endure the proverbial "slings & arrows". Not only that, but he will test me by making my life worse, or tempting me with good fortune that has some kind of sin attached that I constantly have to worry about. All so I can hang out with a guy that demands I fear him after I die...

Nope, not worth it.

I personally think the no hitting/spanking your child rule is a symbol of Nanny State USA - next you won't be able to shout at your child or to hurt his/her feelings by denying the child the extra cookie they demand. Of course you'll rarely hear stories of parents going too far, but the chances are they're poor parents in many other ways and aren't fit to be parents anyway.

I await the NFL attempting to protect their brand and think that justice in a court isn't strong enough punishment.

Kids a brats now and need discipline - a child just burned down a dog shelter in Manchester, England, killing 50 dogs. I know like the AP issue it's a one-off, but I think we all know that a high rate of children nowadays are little a-holes.

Where do we find the "rule" that says you can't spank your child?

There is a rule that says you can't beat your child with a stick until they bleed and have marks on them a week later. That would be child abuse.

We do a lot of rewarding and praise for good behavior and behavior that we find inappropriate we explain why and take away privelges. It defenietly takes more patyience, time and effort than spanking.

And I am glad it is working, and that is a testament to your child as well as you guys.

I was not your kid. I know how I was. I wasn't evil or mean, I was actually sweet and snuggly, but I was a hard headed troublemaker.

I don't think it would have worked. I would have accepted my rewards for doing good. And I would have listened to lessons why things were bad. I would have said "I understand" and I would have just done it again. Or at the very least pushed the boundaries of how far I could go.

I would just hope that everyone lets the legal process play itself out. There has been a handful of times that we the public has defamed and found someone guilty in our court of opinion.

I can reference the time The brother of the real shooter at Sandy Hook in CT was being publicly accused while the identity of the real shooter was uncovered. He was being threatened at work when he wasn't the shooter.

Recently, the old man that Deangelo gave up his tickets too was roasted for being a fake Marine. We all know that after time the truth came out and in this instance the public had "proof" he was fake.

And are we all so hypocritical that while we choose to judge Adrian Peterson we choose to not judge Greg Hardy and pray his situation goes away?

I'm not sayin that what AD did was wrong but let's exercise some restraint in claiming his guilt.

If anything, this thread brought out another problem that we face as a society and that is our views on disciplining our children.
