To be fair (much as I hate to be in this case) Roddy may not have seen the pics.

 

Even if that's the case, it's INCREDIBLY insensitive and stupid to make comments like that in regards to something involving a child that even COULD be something as nefarious as this seems to be.  I mean just look at the reactions to the people here that were talking about fantasy football before these reports with details about exactly how far it did go.

I got spanked with all sorts of items "switches" included.

I never ended up like that but I did have a belt slip around and get me in the groin once :(

Spanking is fine but there is a line you can cross and AP obviously did that...you can't leave marks like that and claim standard discipline. He was probably overly upset and let his anger get the better of him. At the age of 4 a simple hand slap saying "no" or 1 pat on the rear end should be sufficient...no reason to use a switch on a 4 year old IMO.

Most likely he did it while he was pissed.

A lot of people think the "Go to your room & wait til I get there!" type line was psychological torture, when it was really the parent taking a few minutes to calm down so a spanking didn't wind up like those pics.

My mother used to give me an enema and force me to hold in the water while she spanked me black and blue with a belt.  If I spilled a drop then things got really unpleasant.  My father would just beat my ass without the torture element attached.  I would rather deal with mean than crazy any day.

Yea, read the updates, saw the pictures. Looks like he went overboard. Kids has those "significant lacerations" I mentioned. Looks like AP went ballistic on the kid, caught him on the legs, in the ballsack, on the arms, face. He's probably done. The kid even reportedly said he was afraid AP was going to punch him in the face if he said anything. Yeesh.

Read the texts. AP sounded like some freak who got off on beating his child. Talking about how he "was the toughest of all his kids" & "he didn't even shed one tear" & "he let it build up to it" & "he's gonna have to come up with a new plan cause he took it too good".

Dude is messed up in the head. Then again, he didn't have the greatest father himself. Probably just replicating what his dad did to him .

Adult on child violence = perfectly ok.

The most innocent group that can't defend themselves is perfectly fine to hit but a group that is capable is the most unthinkable.

If you hit your kids it's lazy parenting. I don't know maybe talk to your kids instead of hitting them?

Popping a 4-year old on the hand or backside isn't "hitting" them. I don't believe in spanking a child but don't try lumping that in with beating a child.
