Apparently ESPN's Outside the Lines did a hit piece on Greg Hardy this morning

I for one would love to go to the police and charge anyone I want of domestic violence towards me, like Drew brees. It's be great, I can get them suspended forever, maybe even jail time, and then my team won't have face Brees anymore. With the media frenzy about domestic violence right now I'm sure no one would even question the validity of that, even if I'm male and never been near New Orleans

(I'm not saying Hardy is innocent but there isn't clear cut evidence either like in the Rice situation)

Apparently some people on twitter took away that his gf was pregnant at the time. weird

If they say Hardy had her killed on the streets of Rey rd and fled the city into a trunk in Tenn then Im done with all twitter/sports radio/tv lol.

This case in particular never looked good for Hardy..however, it seems(again just from what is out there) that this was an intoxicated/drunk rage couple moment and a disturbing amount of guns on a bed. I do think Hardy manhandled her a bit but no clear evidence of a violent right hook that Rice bestowed upon his lady.

Not excusing violence towards the ladies but if you have a enraged, intoxicated person jumping on you punching, scratching, slapping out of control(im not sure this happened but i have seen this before) I do think a restraining that may be rough and initally harsh is a natural outcome of the situation esp if there is a huge size and strength disparity.

The weaker person will just get hurt in the process if they continue to struggle and fight.

Hardy deserves to be dealt with..just not in the same boat or situation that Rice is in. Hardy just has the sensational plot points of Sex, Drugs and guns in one headline so it seems Rrreeallll Bad to the outsider who is just being introduced to this.

Unfortunately Hardy destroyed ALL the hardwork, accomplishments and oaths from Hogworts to get him his big deal. He will be paid but probally not by the apanthers and for the original DG offer of the 8 million a year IF he survives this PR nightmare.

I disagree as far as the media taking notice. I believe the media has a different agenda.

* To continue paint this franchise in a negative way with the ammunition given

* We are a small market; NC is preceived by many as backwoods and uneducated

* We have a polarizing QB who Panthers fans can't seem to agree on; The media will attack his pressers to support their agenda

* A they will paint the owner as nonsincere who is protecting an abuser

Their hopeful outcome

* Panthers moving to larger market (LA or London)

* New ownership after Mr Richardson passing (fact 2 years after his passing to be sold)

So people we will never get the love that we crave from others nor should we crave it. We just need to support our team and screw the rest of the world. Even if we win the SB we will never be the darling of the NFL.

This is absolute paranoia talking.

Nothing about this has anything to do with the Panthers specifically. It's a hot button issue thanks to Ray Rice and how the commissioner handled it. Nothing more. It wouldn't matter which team was involved.

The whole situation is crazy.  He's one of the biggest assets on our defense but there's clearly been a screw loose with the guy since college.

You don't put yourself in a situation where you have guns in view with your ex-girlfriend and cocaine.

Unless she wasn't s'pose to be there in the first place and you were showing them off to some of your boys. The guns to me are a null point though, first she said the bed was covered. Then it was the couch. She didn't specific both. Obvious unless everyone else in the room is lying she was making that part up about the couch, because how many other people were in that room?

To me its obviously apparent she lied about things, did something happen? probably so. Hopefully the truth will be found by an unbiased, untampered, unjaded jury... and that includes any panthers fans that happen to be on the jury!

Also correct me if I'm wrong but didn't the whole s'posed situation start over the fact she wanted him to pay her rent even though they weren't living together nor in relations, thats when he refused and she started throwing a fit?

I respect your opinion, but gotta disagree.

As apparent as it may seem about what she claims, perception is reality and he put himself in that situation.  Also, he has his "administrative assistants" and a whole crew.  I just don't see how she magically shows up all coked up freaking out and then claims he did all of that.

It's always somewhere in the middle.  She may be crazy and exaggerating/making it up/whatever but it's clear crazy sh*t went down and he freaked out a crazy ex.

I'm trying to be unbiased but I just don't know about Hardy.

Yet how many people get a jury trial? Does the guy driving down to the game busted with a bag of weed get a jury trial?

Answer: if he wants one he is entitled to it.

The guy who drives drunk doesnt get a jury trial, nor the guy caught drag racing on the interstate.

Answer: if he wants one he is entitled to it.

Point is, the law is handed out and accepted in MANY cases when a jury is not present. To say that Hardy isn't guilty until tried by his peers is the same as saying everyone else is not guilty until determined by their peers.

This statement is absurd. If a defendant accepts the deal from the bench trial and decides not to appeal to a higher court he assumes a position of being guilty. If a person decides to proceed with a jury trial that person is given a trial de novo which means a new trial as if the one that happened before it never took place.

I realize that facts muddy the water of your argument but I thought I might let you know just in case you missed the other 50 threads with this posted in it.

Nah Nah, I agree with you completely on that, something happened probably for both sides. The problem is in a situation where they are both drinking/possibly doing drugs there will be three sides to the story; His, Hers and the Truth. I enjoy watching Hardy play but in the end the truth is what is most important if he did it he's gotta take his lumps. Its up to the law and a jury now.
