All we read about Godfrey are positives: versatility this and that, etc. etc. etc.

When Sunday comes........ yea we all know the answer.

Yes, the answer is what it always has been.  Godfrey is a solid player.  Not great, not bad.

He helps our team.

Hey Montsta...

Gettleman = Beane

Gettleman filling holes with castoffs and using platoon's like Mikell and Lester last year and Harper and Godfrey this year.

Not sure how I feel now that I've compared the Panthers to the A's...

I cannot wait to see what Gettleman does when our cap hell is over.   He is going to fill these spots with much better talent, year in and year out.  As long as he drafts well we will be contending every year.

No, the answer is Godfrey is a serviceable player on his best day and certainly horrible on some other days yet is being paid top safety money.

He's had bad days but he's also had really good ones.  Your underestimating him.  His ORIGINAL Hurney contract was terrible but did you forget that fast he took a cut from 5 Mil to 750K?

Average, not solid.

Semantics.  That's exactly my point.  He's not a BAD player.  He's a convenient scapegoat on the huddle to people who don't understand football is a team game.

Yea I remember he took a pay cut this year. Did you forget that he's still scheduled to make over 10 million in the next two years? In addition to all of the money we've paid him in the past to be an average at best DB?

You're fooling yourself if you think that he will get that money if he doesn't play to Gettleman's expectations.  As much as Hurney screwed his contract up, he's still an asset to our team.  There's a reason we kept him.
