Oh and remember how Mike Mitchell was ranked a top 10 safety after joining the Steelers? Guess what, he's not even mentioned now in the rankings. Lol

How is Eric reid the 8th best safety in the nfl? See what I mean these people are stupid as hell

Even as a Lions fan, I'm not entirely sure what they base these picks on. The Lions had 1 good game after falling apart last year. You guys won a game against a team you were supposed to lose to, and are coming off a great year.

Can the Lions win? Sure.

Does a LOT have to go the right way for them in order for that to happen? Yes.

Do I want them to win? Of course.

Am I expecting them to win? Honestly, no.

I've been a Lions fan over 20 years now. I'm optimistic for this season, and I think they are heading in the right direction. But I don't understand the people going overboard with excitement over a team that still has a lot to prove.

Well..  considering some of these experts have preached all off-season that the Panthers will finish last in their division and struggle to even reach 5 wins this season.  I promise....  we will be expected to lose almost every week.

May as well embrace it.

The Panthers have always handled Bush very well, but if we can't get pressure on Stafford, CJ, and Golden Tate scare the hell out of me.

Any game is tough and I remember having a big lead on Detroit the last time we played and lost in the fourth quarter using a crappy prevent defense.  If the Panthers come out with fire and playing tough defense we will be in the game no matter what.  Given how Anderson played last week I feel better if Cam gets hurt or misses some plays because Anderson can keep us rolling.  The issue will coming out strong on both sides of the ball and essentially taking away Megatron with a double team wherever he goes on the field.  Sure they have a dynamic tight end and Tate had a very good game as well but if you take away Johnson, you take away 40% of their offense.  And if Stafford cant just throw it up looking for a bailout he is much less effective.

Detroit's defense should be beatable, we just have to make sure we don't get behind early or let them in the game because we don't score any points.

As for the talking heads, when they start determining the final score in these games, I will start listening to them.

Indeed. When they play smart and keep penalties down, I would argue that they could game with the best teams in the league. They've done that in the 1 game they've played so far this season, and against the Giants. And even then, they had 8 penalties in the first half (0 in the second half). Could have been first game jitters, could be their true nature. Won't really know for sure until Monday morning.

If both teams play smart and keep penalties to a minimum, I think this will be one of the most enjoyable games to watch all season, win or lose.
