Smitty may be even more pissed than we thought (Panthers related)

yeah, thought so.

i don't know what the fug i was thinking trying to debate fan loyalty with a tarhole.  you are literally the worst fans of any team in america.

haven't seen many of them lately though so i assume there must be another hopeful preseason top 10 ranking this year

hoping your team loses because a player left, and that team's player wins makes you a fan of that player, and not his former team.

pulling for another team to win means you are a bigger fan of that team or player than you are the original franchise

btw have you ever even set foot on chapel hill?   just curious.

If Rivera and McDermott have any sense at all, they will triple team Smith Sr. Not because he is good enough to warrant it, but because Flacco targets him wayyyyu too much as it is, and mix in that the game is against the Panthers, and Smith will be lobbying all week to be the offensive focus. We need a DB, a Safety, and a Linebacker underneath on him and we'll get picks ALL DAY. Think 2005 NFCCG against Seattle.

to be fair steve was the only one that really gave effort in that game.  we were ground down and on our 4th running back.  i wanna say nick goings was our running back for that game, splitting carries with hoover.

im rooting for smitty the whole game I love my panthers but we got to root for smitty

We should of just kept him picture what him and kelvin would do with a great passer like anderson, we should cut scam and keep anderson , our offense looked best I seen since jake delhomme days

Lol! Come on, mayne!! You might get a few nibbles, but you ain't gonna pull in any big fish unless you practice some subtlety.

Oh don't get me wrong I'm not saying anything bad about Smitty in regards to that particular game, lord knows he was our entire offense for that year and a monster throughout that postseason.

I'm simply saying Seattle blanketed coverage his way and shut him down, and we didn't have an answer for that.

I hope Rivera and McDermott at least acknowledge that he will be lobbying big time and gameplan accordingly. Like Frash and others said, too much attention and Daniels will go off, but I just don't want Steve Smith to go off and get their team all pumped up. I'd rather Daniels have an 80 yard, 2 TD day and we win like 17-14 then have Smith catch some 80 yard bomb and be so damn sure of himself all game (scratch that, all year) long.

If I'm not mistaken, Nick even got knocked out of the game and "HeHateMe" had to get a few carries.

Nick Goings left the game during the first drive.

    • Okay so I am reading something in The Athletic and it says that Jones had to pass through waivers. So I don't know. I looked this stuff up when we were number one there all offseason and I thought it said 4 years in the league got you vested, as they call it.  Vested gets you out of waivers as I understood it. I probably got something wrong, but when I think about the slack quality of journalism these days I wonder about that. So I went and looked, again. Well, well.  For everyone: "When a player has accrued at least four seasons in the NFL, they are considered a vested veteran. When these vested veterans get cut, they are released and their contract is terminated. When a vested veteran is released, they are an unrestricted free agent that can sign with any NFL team, and the team that released them doesn’t need to provide any additional compensation." It runs it all down here, where the quotes came from: https://www.profootballnetwork.com/waived-vs-released-nfl/ As far as Jones, the team turned down his 5th year option so I knew that meant he had 4 years in, because they re-signed him anyway, after turning down the much cheaper extra year.  The Athletic is owned by the New York Times so I shouldn't be surprised. That paper was an institution once upon a time but they let their standards go.
    • Well, we got our answer on Army today.
    • Not a chance the SEC could compete with the NFL.  In the large cities that are not in the Southeast, (LA, NYC, Chicago, SF) College football is an afterthought.
