Smitty may be even more pissed than we thought (Panthers related)

Do I believe Smith was one of the best players that ever played for the Panthers?  Yes

Is he better then some of the receivers we have on the roster now?  Yes

Could he have been productive for us this year? Yes

Was he causing issues in the locker room?  I have no idea for sure.  Seems that way.

Will he be productive for the Ravens?  I fully expect him to.  Getting released can often provide some extra motivation for older players.

Was he declining?  Father time is undefeated.

Do we need cap space in the next two years to sign some of our talented young players?  Yes

Was cutting Smith a logical decision based on the contracts of out current players?  Yes

Could we have handled how he was released better?  Probably

If you didn't want to see Smith go who do you think we should have cut?  Would you have preferred to keep Smith and limit your chances to sign a player like Star or Luke?

I appreciate everything he has done on the field for this organization.  I wish him much success in Baltimore.

I hope we get the win when we play them and he has zero catches.

It is time to support the players we do have.

If Rivera and McDermott have any sense at all, they will triple team Smith Sr. Not because he is good enough to warrant it, but because Flacco targets him wayyyyu too much as it is, and mix in that the game is against the Panthers, and Smith will be lobbying all week to be the offensive focus. We need a DB, a Safety, and a Linebacker underneath on him and we'll get picks ALL DAY. Think 2005 NFCCG against Seattle.

You don't need that much to blanket him. That game in Seattle he had 5 catches for 33

yards going against quadruple coverage. Today you can keep him down to that number with one corner

Smitty became the Ravens #1 receiver tonight, and I'm not sure if that was the plan, or if it is even a positive development considering the drops and

tendency for QB's to force the ball to him.

We should of just kept him picture what him and kelvin would do with a great passer like anderson, we should cut scam and keep anderson , our offense looked best I seen since jake delhomme days
