Smitty may be even more pissed than we thought (Panthers related)

How can you frame an argument that someone is hoping someone on the Panthers doesn't do well if they want to Smitty to succeed?

That argument itself is belittling the man by making the assumption that he can be contained. Of course he can... but, not every play... As evidenced by the countless DBs he has torched over his career.

We could cover him well all day, and that still doesn't mean he will be contained. He gets paid to beat opposing teams, and he has done so his entire career.

Our answer is to bring in people he's beat before and expect them not to get beat again?

LOL

He was contained pretty well by our opposing teams last season and that was a huge factor in why he isn't playing for us this year.

I have lived long enough and experienced enough in life and in a corporate environment to know that there is more than meets the eye to any situation, and also realize that there are two sides of every story.  It's not about winning the argument.  People fall on different sides of an argument that will now never be proven one way or another.  It's all speculation.

As have I, and you're right, it's not about winning/losing.  It's more about realization that someone who spends most of their time with/around the team, probably has much better knowledge of what's really going on, than those of us on the outside looking in.  I understand they're not sitting in the front office with Gettleman and co., but they do see and hear a lot of things, which lead him to the statements he's making.  I just think what he's saying, has a lot less assumption to it than you do, that's all.

I don't think you could miss the point any more.

You said it's a problem if Smith were to look at his teammate as a threat. I'm saying anyone who wouldn't look at the guy trying to take your #1 spot from you is competition is a wimp.

In what part of that statement did you get lost? Don't worry. I'll hold your hand and we'll make it through this...together.
