Smitty may be even more pissed than we thought (Panthers related)

Hoping for Smith to do well is the same as hoping a Panthers player does poorly.

Sorry, can't bring myself to do that.

Exactly.

Also, I hope he gets his mouth smatched(that's that hillbilly talk) in week 4.  People "love and support" Smitty, even after what he said on national TV... sad.  The comments may have been directed at an individual, but he's not playing Gettleman in week 4, so his anger will be directed at our team and trying to make us look bad.

there's a difference between being a fan of the team, and a fan of a player

smitty jock riders are just ravens fans that are still in denial

Your reasoning is basically just stupid.  Just because someone respects Smitty for what he did as a Panther does not make them a Ravens fan or a Smitty jock rider.  Just because you want to define what a fan is and frame the conversation within your distorted and simplistic view of what constitutes the definition of a fan, or what delineates a fan of team and a fan of a player does not make it so.

Like I said before, the Jekyll-Hyde nature of the Huddle on this issue, and to a lesser degree the Julius Peppers situation, is an embarrassment to the fan base.

You have illogically and in-congruently tried to use other players' NFL accolades in other uniforms as a means to cast some dispersion upon what Smitty achieved as a Panther for the lion's share of his career. You and others have put on display for all the world to see that some Panthers fans can't differentiate the nuances of the business side of the game versus the game itself, or the game from real life.

Anyone who has watched 89 over the years shouldn't be surprised or outraged that he is using the situation as motivation.  To suggest anything more is just being hypocritical, and all the other bullshit about questioning a person's loyalties as a fan is bullshit as well.   Neither football or life is so black and white.  That's just the way I see it.

Smith needs to understand that he isn't the first or last aging player to get released by his team. If he wants to use it as internal motivation that's fine but that kind of crap is kind of pathetic to hear from a professional.

I ain't even mad.

But I never liked smith much when he was here.

I don't think week 4 will end well for him.

If this is true, then I can respect that...

The problem is that you have people doing a flip, or coming out of the woodwork like roaches now that his career in Charlotte is over basically heaping a bunch of poo on the guy.

Any decent receiver can catch a touchdown when the coverage is busted. I want them to hold him to zero yards when he's here. He's getting paid millions of dollars by us AND the Ravens. I don't give a poo if he gets embarrassed on the field...he can go home and cry in his pile of money.

We aren't paying him anymore. We paid him that money as a bonus years ago. It is just still being pro-rated against the cap.

Yes, I am going to repeat this every time this comes up.

But yes, I hope he gets embarrassed.

Hell, I didn't even know that...not that it matters in the grand scheme of things.
