Yes, Steve is the #2 option behind Torrey Smith. What's your point? Benjamin is the #2 option behind Olsen.

Besides, Smith is a veteran who was playing with a Super Bowl MVP QB (who threw the ball 62, yes SIXTY-TWO, times).

Benjamin was making his NFL debut, on the road, against a good defense, with a back up QB.

Bullshit! Smitty has love for Jerry Richardson, the Panthers organization, many of his ex-teammates, and the city of Charlotte. His beef is mainly with Gettleman and the way that he was shown the door. He never thought he was bigger than the Panthers, and it's sickening and tiresome hearing this propaganda propagated by fans who obviously have some ax to grind or feelings of ill will towards a guy who gave his 100 percent on the field. That's what's truly disgusting.

Unless you're Dave or Steve, I recommend you don't make statements you can't prove. You don't know that Steve wasn't asked to take a pay cut. He openly said he wouldn't take a pay cut on the radio. Maybe he told Dave the same thing and Dave called his bluff.

I seriously doubt Steve just woke up one morning and saw on ESPN he was axed. He most likely knew.

That fire is cool when you're dominating opponents in 2005, but it gets old when you catch a 4 yard out route on a 3rd and 10 and start chirping and spinning the ball. Smitty supporters will see that and say "Yeah, he's still got it!" when in reality the punt team is coming onto the field.

This franchise and this fanbase stuck up for him when he punched teammates on multiple occasions. If he truly is that mad about how things transpired, I feel sorry for him. You can't go through life holding grudges, especially when there's no reason to hold one in the first place.

In that "couple of years" Dave Gettleman is now 13-4 in the regular season with a playoff appearance. I think I'll take his side.

The problem is you act like this franchise was the New England Patriots while he was here. No back-to-back winning seasons and no playoff victories since 2005.

 

If you want to get off the train of mediocrity, you've got to make some big decisions regarding the "old guard." The idea that you stay loyal to players regardless of their performance or salary crippled this franchise for years and even after a 12 win season in Gett's FIRST YEAR with little to no flexibility to improve a 6-10 roster we have fans like you that still prefer the good ol' days.
