Around the Horn called for Hardy's suspension

It all goes back to in the State of North Carolina .. any woman can go the magistrate and get a warrant for your arrest with no proof but her word. Any if she has any proof at all no matter how small, you will be found guilty in district court. You then go to 12 weeks of abuse counselling. For those with money you can request a trial by Jury and thats the path Hardy chose.

It happened to me. An ex GF can into my house (she did not live there) began making as scene. All I wanted was for her to leave and she would not, so then began the shoving match ... yes I pushed her to get her out the door, but I never hit her ... I few hours later I was in jail and convicted of DV.

You can ask anyone, I am the nicest sweetest teddy bear a girl would want to meet, but because of NC Law I now have a DV charge on my record.

Rice hasn't been convicted in a trial either

NFL can act independently of legal prosecution.

As a rule, they won't for a first time offender.

If they have concrete evidence of a crime being committed, they will act independently of legal prosecution.  This is Ray Rice's case.

Also, what has changed with Greg Hardy's case to Around the Horn and The Charlotte Observer this week as compared to last? Is there some video that has surfaced with him? No? Then these attention whoring, shameless, sacrosanct trolls should have called for his suspension months ago and not the second an NFL domestic violence case becomes the lead story on the evening news.

the mother fugers get off to this.  it really does repulse me how these media types collectively think everyone is dumber than a fuging rock about this stuff.

When outside organizations and politics get involved it turns into a witch hunt, people want to be able to say, years from now, I was the first to speak out on that, ecspecially in the media! I hate it, but I feel it's only a matter of time before Greg is suspended as a last itch effort to save face for the NFL front office. Back people into a corner and they will respond irrationally.

MLB and steroids is a great example

Holy poo all this is insane.  These men did not murder anyone.  This isn't Casey Anthony.  I know what these men did was very wrong and I am not condoning it in any way, but all this hoop lah is horrendous.  The lineman who killed his friend drunk driving in Dallas didn't have this much poo going on.  He certainly didn't get kicked out of the league.  As a matter of fact after his 10 week suspension, he's back on the team......wtf.  He took another human beings life. Last I check Mrs. Rice and Ms. Holder were still breathing.

Hardy's case and Rice's case are completely different.  Once is physical evidence being in the form of a tape and the other is he said she said (keep in mind she said she was on coke....)  Like I said what Ray did was horrible and he should have Butter Bean rabbit punch his cubes.  Hardy, we will have to wait and see on the jury trial, but for the NFL to act now would be the wrong move.  If he is innocent, poo would hit the fan.

Then you don't know Fiz.

He's definitely an eccentric and picks his battles.  He is also an extremely long standing huddler and one of the most entertaining personalities on this board.

He isn't ignorant or stupid, he just gets a little loud.

He's an immature falcons fan and  attention *****, nothing more. He is no where to be found during the offseason. Everything he posts is for more attention, clearly by 'choosing his battles', whatever gets him more attention. If you think that's entertaining that says a lot about you.

Not surprising...

Goodell has to deflect attention off of Rice and his handling of the case, while simultaneously using the opportunity to make a statement and show he's turned a new leaf...  Hardy is the perfect target for his redemption.

Also, I posted in the Rice thread that the day the Rice video came out, Adam Schefter was comparing Rice to Hardy and despite the Ray McDonald case pending, he called out Hardy saying "he threatened to kill his girlfriend, and is still playing this year.  MAKING 13 MILLION THIS SEASON!"

Time to find a scapegoat, NFL!
