Because leaders shouldn't be liars. The good news is that the kraken can possibly put on his war paint again and they can get rid of all the new stupid rules like celebrating tds. Let's make the NFL the National football league again and get rid of the no fun league.

So the Senate Commerce Committee (you know, that oversees the NFL's Antitrust Exemption) meeting about this tomorrow is just...nothing, right?

 

 

It's the typical typical knee-jerk politician reaction. Again, it'll blow over in a few days. I mean we even hardly hear about Fergusson, MO anymore. And here we are acting like Goodell killed someone.

Nowadays it's easy to ride out a negative wave of public opinion. Our attention span as a society is so short he could go on a 3 day cruise and come back like nothing ever happened. Society is all gung-ho over poo until the next big news breaks.

The legal issue and the league issue are two different things. Goodell is not responsible for and should not be even in the discussion of what the legal system does. 

 

His issues are with the league's image. I'm not talking about the league looking bad because of Rice. I mean the league not demonstrating they can handle anything correctly. The league office is not supposed to be the story. The games are. The league office has been the story on an increasingly larger scale every year.

If he was caught lying and orchestrating a cover up - he's done. He hurts the brand and the "shield". The court of public opinion is very powerful.

I don't think its a cover up as much as he is lying due to the heat of public opinion that he never saw the video we all now see. He thought he and the league and the union handled this right then a few days before kinda sorta tries to get ahead of this video being released and says umm I got this wrong so my bad.
