Goodell will be fired/resign by next week

And Rice has been punished. End of the day people are still blurring the line of our judicial system and putting that on Goodell

People will get on ether soapbox....sure.

League has seen worse though.

I don't necessarily buy that he's gone by next week.

But I do think there's a pretty good chance he ultimately doesn't survive this particular scandal.

I think this scandal is being made into something more than it is.....end of the day IMO that can't be ignored.

The justice people want isn't found in the NFL. And like I said....Goodell has been better about disciple than pretty much anyone in NFL history

NOW is a pretty big group and this is a hot button issue with a very visceral video image attached.

Put that together with the congressional involvement and there's a big possibility this isn't so easily solved.

NOW is a very big group, but it's a very big group mostly made of non-football watchers. If the stadiums stay packed while NOW protests outside I'm not sure if it'll be effective.

Like the Chik-fil-a protests. A group of people who didn't eat there in the first place boycotting doesn't matter if the fatties who ate there already didn't care.

I don't think they're going it alone on this one, though.  Domestic violence is a pretty big hot button.

You see the story about Rockefeller?

If the corporate sponsors don't like this, that will get the owners attention.  You buying tickets has nothing to do with the bottom line, look at the Raiders, Jags or the Bucs or any other team's attendance that is pisspoor.  The franchises are still worth billions.

Once Coors or GM or Verizon and others whisper their displeasure to the owners, change will happen.

See Donald Sterling.

He is not going to resign and the owners are not going to fire him.  No amount of pressure is going to change that given how much money the league is making which is in some measure to him and the changes he has made.

He admitted he screwed up and think that domestic violence is a big deal.  The losers are going to be the players like Hardy if found guilty who will be sacrificial lambs to show how seriously the league is in dealing with it,

Understood. But, with great power comes great responsibility. Goodell has seen fit to make himself judge, jury, and executioner when it comes to doling out discipline in the NFL. That means he gets to bear full responsibility when that goes wrong. It went horribly wrong here.

What you're implying here is that the league had this video and then no one disclosed the presence of this video to Goodell. I'm saying there is very little chance that happened and if it did happen, that's indicative of the true priority Goodell has placed on implementing an atmosphere at the league office that is conducive to conducting proper investigations. Either way, it leads back to Goodell. He wouldn't accept excuses like this from a team. He specifically told Sean Payton and the Saints during Bountygate that ignorance was no excuse. Those chickens have come home to roost now.

Not sure if CRA didn't see my post or if he just ducked it.

Once things calm down and people start thinking straight....

They will realize Goodell is there focus...

And Rice

And law enforcement

And our judicial system

And everyone that people should legitimately be ticked off at are being put on be backburner in all this grandstanding.

See my last post.

Rice, law enforcement, judicial system.....this is where the real outrage belongs.

For whatever reason Goodell is being held to a standard the real players in all this aren't....and that will come through eventually.

Yes, it is clear Goodell's office fugged up. His fug up in reality isn't as big as the others getting overlooked. In fact, you could argue even with the mishandling they did better than the rest of the parties in play.

Law enforcement officials are saying the NFL knew about the video, had the video in their possession, and have confirmation by someone within the league office.

He's done.

Disagree... just a baseless opinion. Like him or not it won't be easy for the NFL to just can him. I say he survives this. Would like to see oddsmakers lines on it

I agree with you that the prosecutor should be taking A LOT more heat on this, but given the way Goodell has positioned himself as judge, jury, and prosecutor when it comes to discipline in the NFL he has basically built his own gallows.

The bottom line is that the media and politicians are attention whores. They're always going to go after the big story. Going after some random NJ prosecutor? Peanuts. They'll leave that to local media. Going after the NFL and NFL Commissioner? Yeah, they're gonna feast on that.

You're losing me at the connection between "some women let this sort of thing get done to them" and "we should just do nothing about a case where a guy is caught on video punching a woman out".

let's start with the second part of your comment... when did I say do nothing to the guy that punched this chick on tape? dude, he absolutely needs to be addressed and has done so already. Again I do not condone these types of actions. I'm simply saying that "some" woman allow this, in fact "some" woman don't mind this, and even "some" women are moving than willing to allow it to happen based on their motives. To be more direct, its obvious that in their relationship this is not the first time that has happened. Thus its been going on which confirms my point and furthermore, who do you see addressing the media now that that money has came to a halt? HER!

Ray is in the center of the issue but don't let the media twist it, its about exposing the NFL's protection of players. That's why RG is on the hot seat and he threw Ray under the bus. The NFL knew of this and here's the proof: what's the chances of the "new strict domestic violence policy" just coming out before the public release of this tape? also once exposed how did the NFL  handle the policy support? by making the coaches and players speak on it in accordance. The NFL is a brotherhood society, and to quote Terry Crews, "a cult!" This will continue to happen even after this incident. American media blows it up beyond reality of which it happens everyday with little to no concern in everyday people's lives.
