Goodell will be fired/resign by next week

I'm not a fan AT ALL of the ex-congressman's son running the NFL.....but there's way too many using this incident for their soapbox to proclaim they want him gone (Which I would guess stems from him "fixing" what doesn't need to be fixed rules wise more so than the Rice ordeal)

The thing that irks me is that it was understood what Rice did so Goodell suspended him for 2 games.  Video evidence comes out supporting what was the presumed truth and he gets an indefinite suspension.  It's just all too fishy for someone other than Rice getting punished.

The public's outrage.

And fair or not, it's the level of public outrage that will determine how this story ends.

Well good thing the publics opinions have zero effect on how the owners perceive him.

He has built the NFL into a even bigger cash cow under his reign. I doubt they walk away from that when everyone gets tired of hearing about it after the next week of games get played.

As mentioned before, the NFL is the most image conscious league in sports.

But they may have bigger problems now...

Senate Committee Chair Rockefeller looking to investigate NFL

U.S. Senator Jay Rockefeller (D, WV), the chairman of the senate committee on Commerce, Science and Transportation, is trying to mobilize members of the committee in an effort to conduct congressional hearings on the domestic violence issue as it pertains to the NFL.

A source close to the situation told The Herald that Rockefeller's work to find traction for such hearings among his members is well known within senate offices since it began in earnest Wednesday.

The NFL enjoys wide ranging anti-trust law exemptions and benefits from the government and thus Rockefeller sees holding the league accountable on a wide range of issues as well within his purview.

Rockefeller is known within Washington's Beltway as not a big fan of NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell. Goodell has come under fire for his handling of the domestic violence incident involving Ray Rice and his then-fiancee inside an Atlantic City elevator in February.

FYI: Rockefeller isn't up for re-election, so this can't really be framed as a vote grabber.

Sounds like he's looking for Goodell's head.

I'm curious to see (and compare) other pro league's policies on domestic violence and how they've dealt with examples.

Goodell and the current NFL IMO is the toughest we have seen on player behavior all around

Prior NFL commissioners have been much weaker. More horrific stuff than his hasn't been touched

Law enforcement officials are saying the NFL knew about the video, had the video in their possession, and have confirmation by someone within the league office.

He's done.

I will be greatly suprised if Goodell gets the axe over this allegation that has not even been confirmed.I don't feel the man would be some dumb as to try to hide the video or just dismiss it without having others in high places review it.
