Goodell will be fired/resign by next week

So you think an underling made the decision to put his or her neck on the line by not pushing this video up the chain of command? Sorry, I just don't see it. Goodell wouldn't be the first person nor the last to get drunk on his own power and think he can do whatever the hell he wants to do and then lie about because he's just fuging untouchable.

I'm saying the NFL is huge and lots of money involved....it is a perfect place for incompetence and corruption.

I think people are thinking Goodell is superman and covers way more ground than logically possible.

Again, he is responsible for the fug up bc he is the boss of those that work on all the 1000 things he has to approve and rule on. People can be pitched all kinds of things and believe they are ruling correct

Government and major media are involved now, not just the sports media.

I'm not so sure throwing some underling nobody ever heard of to the wolves is gonna be enough to stop the train on this story.

It looks like the reign of NFL Czar, Roger Goodell, is about to come to an end.

Some want Condoleezza Rice to replace him.

Nothing against her, but my preference would be somebody who's already experienced within the NFL replacing Goodell if it comes to that (which it looks like it very well could).

Public relations for the NFL being what they are right now though, you could argue an outsider might be a better option.

While I'm no fan of TMZ, if this video hadn't gone public, Ray Rice would have just served a two game suspension for his actions.

Seeing what he did, do you really think two games was enough of a penalty?

That goes back on Goodell, IF, he saw that video and handed out the 2 game suspension he's just as guilty

IMO i would have at least handed out a 8-10 games suspension and make him go to a mandatory anger management and counseling class, he could have done a lot better then suspending him indefinitely........idk how you watch that video and think a 2 game suspension will suffice

he gets paid big bucks to make these decisions yet he made the poorest one recently

Govt getting involved doesn't mean much to be....selective caring like always. Getting involved in stuff that waste their time....when they have more important stuff to botch.

Media will out what really happened soon enough

I personally think he did, but the NFL previously hadn't handed out major penalties for domestic violence.

But this incident was videotaped, and in this day and age, imagery is a major factor in public perception.  From Rodney King to Ferguson and more, video goes a long way toward shaping the perception of a story.

And the NFL severely underestimated how much the public would care about this.

Truth be told, the perception that they were too soft on domestic violence in the past is legitimate.  This story changed that, but their mishandling of the story and the discipline of Rice may just have more far reaching consequences.

No, but he shouldn't be suspended indefinitely. Nobody for their first offense should be, including Hardy
