The way our PSLs work (from my friend and parents) is that you pay a yearly fee per seat and buy the season tickets. Any year you don't buy tickets, or pay your fee, or fail to purchase post season tickets, you lose your PSL. I think that's how it works. It keeps you from skipping out on any payments.

It irritates my folks because they had to buy play off tickets last year, even thoug we didn't have any home playoff games. But that deposit went towards the next years PSLs.

You only pay the PSL fee once. You then pay for season tickets each year.

Well, if there were no PSL's sold to finance the stadium, we wouldn't have a team here. You don't actually "own the seat", you own the RIGHT to purchase the season tickets for Panthers games for the seats you own the rights to.

Here is the wording directly off my PSL contract:

"Licensee has the right and obligation to purchase the related season tickets from the Franchise for all home Games (pre-season, regular season and postseason, if applicable) for the Team for as long the Team plays in the Stadium. PSLs do not apply to Super Bowls or any other events which may be held at the Stadium, such as the Shrine Bowl, college games, concerts or all star games. All payments for tickets are due upon receipt of invoice from the Franchise."

and that is a good point. Your PSL money went to building the stadium....great idea.

Just for grins, I pulled out my contract and was looking at some of the stuff in there (I ran into it the other day while looking for something else).

That contract has got some teeth in it, doesn't it? I guess specifically the section about your responsiblity if someone else uses your tickets and doesn't follow the rules. It's nothing I didn't know, but reading the legaleze brings it all home.

We would still be watching the Redskins every Sunday on Charlotte TV if if weren't for the PSL holders. Give it a rest.

How do you know that? We still could have gotten the team without PSL's. The PSL's just locked it for us but it doesn't mean we wouldn't have gotten the team without them.

I actually had the chance to speak with Jon Richardson on this issue during the post-season... there was a company in Connecticut that lost their Patriots' season tickets privileges because a male guest of theirs used the ladies' restroom at a game and was arrested for it. Jon said that if something like that happened here, the PSL owner would at least receive one warning before their PSLs could be revoked. I told him that in my opinion, a PSL owner should never be left out in the cold on something like that... they should have the right to sell their PSLs rather than having them yanked.

I don't think that the Richardson's would have spent there own money on the stadium, and the taxpayers of CLT would have been in an uproar. The league would likely not have awarded the team without the Richardson's showing that the city could support it. The selling of PSL's ensured a guaranteed ticket base.

I think the City would have worked something out look at how they aredoing to Nascar Hall of Fame. Granted this is 12 years later but the city and state would have stepped up and came up with the money. I just don't like the way the PSL's are setup, Yes I am a owner but it locks out alot of the fans from getting season tickets. Not everbody can afford that much money to buy them and it has an "elitest" feel to it. I think sooner or later the PSL's are going to be priced out of range that only the rich can afford them.

I don't think that funding the stadium was the only issue with the NFL awarding Charlotte the team. The Richardson's needed to show that the community would support the team and the PSL's were one way of guaranteeing that the tickets would be sold. The team would have bled money in the losing seasons had the tickets not been sold to the PSL owners, whether they attended the games or not.

Heck, I didn't like forking over the dough for my PSL's either. We have only had them for a few years. But, due to us not being a huge market and die-hard fanbase overall (yet :) ) we will have to deal with these sorts of things to make sure that the team is supported.

Eh, it sucks to not be able to decide out of the blue to go on a Sunday because the game is 'sold out'. Then you turn on the tube to watch it and the stadium is half empty.

Alot of good games sell out quick, weeks in advance.

But I guess I really just don't want to go that badly!

No. With Panthers PSLs, you pay an upfront fee (mine was $3900 way back when) then you purchase your season tickets each year -- no yearly fee, just season tickets. You must purchase your season tickets and playoff tickets, or you lose the PSL with no refund.

The 'upfront' fee is the price of the seat(s)...a one time charge, and that is correct; you have to purchase season tickets yearly or you forfeit your seats.

A PSL gives you the right to sit in the same seats the rest of your life and the only other fee you would have to pay is the transfer fee if you would decide to sell the seats to another person....I think $250.

BUT, as a PSL owner, you are NOT required to purchase playoff tickets:disgusted

The stadium sends you a letter in December (from my personal experience) if it looks like the Cats are heading to the playoffs.

They simply ask if you would like to purchase tickets for your seat(s) in the event the Panthers have a home playoff game(s).

If you reply no, then your seats are up for grabs through the stadium or TicketMaster.

A PSL owner is required to pay for 10 home games yearly.

2 pre-season and 8 regular season games:Banane09:

Here's how it reads from the playoff invoice from last season:

"FULL PAYMENT (tickets and handling charge) MUST BE RECEIVED NO LATER THAN DECEMBER 9, 2005. PARTIAL ORDERS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED. Please note: terms of your PSL agreement require the purchase of all post-season games played at Bank of America Stadium. Failure to purchase the Playoff Package will result in cancellation of your PSL Account and forfeiture of all monies paid to date."

And yes, the all caps words were just like they came in my invoice.

I think playoff tickets are required too. Livermush I agree. The big thing I will what will happen when BOA Stadium is old and the team wants a new stadium. I know it still years away but the PSL's are only good for this stadium and not the next one.

    • I find it more like now that I have been forced to watch Young so much it isn’t as much of a shock to my senses.   Desensitized they call it.   For real, it just looks normal almost now. Where the first game of 2023 I wasn’t sure what I was looking at it was so out of bounds for NFL type play. I literally couldn’t make sense of what I had seen vs Atlanta that first week.
    • Lynch in SF. Great is subjective but he has done pretty well there.
    • Sure, except Stroud has the ability to stretch the field with deep passes. He did that often last night with ease, but couldn’t connect on many due to being flustered by the defense. BY9 gets flustered and can’t throw screens, let alone even think about any deeper passes. Stroud would’ve changed the franchise and done more with the situation last year. My thought at least.    the hope is that last year showed tepper that he needed to step back from football decisions. There’s a positive in most situations and maybe we’ll see a new tepper in the near future.
